Newcastle United 2-2 Chelsea (20/12/25) | post-match from pg. 45

It did, but it was not like 90+5 penalty. -
Well, his shoulder contacts Gordon's shoulder to start with. edit. he could have tackled the ball away with his right foot there. Bit of risky tackle to make.

I don't think that "definitely decided the game". 3-1 is a big lead, but we threw away 2 goal lead anyway. And couple of weeks ago we perhaps got advantage v Man City from a big mistake. They even out in the long term. -

So you can tackle someone after shot was taken? Naah mate, clear pen. Does Schär play the ball About the Gordon v Chalobah. I think Gordon tries to get infront of him, like he has done so many times and won penalties. This time just didn't work. -
Decent result in other games I would. Spurs-Pool a draw please.

I think he hits both, but he doesn't tackle "through" Barnes like people say here. He stretches his legs to ball and it hits his calf. His other leg tackles Barnes. Again, Thiaw doing that in our box, people would be saying clean tackle and play on. -

During your playing days, you would have turned around there and ask for a pen if you think it was a foul. 100 % -

James does hit the ball. That is why we get a corner. He also tackles Barnes. -

he did, cleanly like everyone said. People are saying how Mike Dean and Joe Cole thought Gordon v Chalobah was a penalty. What did they say about that? -

Have you actually played football? You don't know if the defender clatters you out without touching the ball? And people are saying I am just winding up. 99,9% times a player who has been fouled turns around there, hands raised and shouts at the ref. Barnes was just shaking his head and looking at the sky. -

Ffs. My point is, it is totally worthless to have a go how shit and bent and corrupt referees are, if you are saying that only when you are having the shit end of decisions. They make mistakes all the time, but we didnt lose our 2-0 lead because of that. It (letting in easy goals, not referees not giving us pens) has become a habbit, and just saying refs are shit is giving an excuse for our mistakes at the back. -

I watched it over again, and if that was done by Thiaw and given as a penalty, you would be screaming for a corrupt ref. -

I think they scored from 2 mistakes. Free kick was accurate but perhaps Ramsdale should have done better. Second was an unlucky slip out of nowhere. Otherwise they really didn't create much. We did and should have scored 2-3 more. Gordon missed perhaps the best chance first half, although it was quite a difficult ball to shoot quickly. -

If he doesnt get the ball A) Why doesnt Barnes call for a penalty B) why we got a corner after that? James tackles between Barnes and the ball, gets both Barnes and the ball. -

No. But I am a person who rather talks about the game. Even at u10 games and non-league people are always shouting about refs. It is tiresome. we sometimes get a wrong decision going our way, sometimes other way around. Very rarely they decide the game by a big mistake -

OK, no point talking about that. No one thinks its a penalty, Barnes himself is not calling for it etc. Go for a walk mate if you take it that seriously -

Yea, James gets the ball and Barnes was most likely slightly offside also. Just looked it again. Barnes’ reaction tells it all: nothing. -

Not everyone thinks it’s a pen. It happens every week. Not perhaps only on here, but I follow a lot of other teams’ conversations also. It is sooo often about refs and how poor they were -

Maybe it was a penalty, but now for example people here have called James on Barnes a clear pen, when it was outside of the box clearly. Wolte handball when Fofana’s arm by his side. i am disagreeing bc I am tired that nowadays, in every level of football, when things are not going your way, people whine about refs and dont talk about the game itself. Couple weeks ago Schär clattered Foden in our box, no one was complaining when it wasnt a penalty, which it clearly was. -

No, not strong penalty calls. We had one decent shout. Hall and Schär escaped booking for some reason, and bc of that Hall was able to stop dangerous Chelsea counterattack by pulling a guy from behind. All these matter in a game. I understand that people are angry, but refs make 20-30 mistakes per game. It is boring and lazy to blame them. If we win that no one is saying a thing about refs, except Chelsea fans -

Cause I saw at least two decisions first half that ref didnt give a clear yellow to our player but people are saying how bent he was. I get that people are angry, but it’s always so that people forget poor decisions that go in our favor. biggest reason we lost points was poor game management, not ref -
