Again people are reacting too harshly when we lose a game. We are not a top4 squad yet, and certainly not with these injuries. First job for NUFC is to stabilize their position in top 6-8, which we are now doing. Get revenues up, get a stronger squad and get rid of the deadwood still here and start building a top team. It really is not helping that after one great season we are expecting us to be top4 every season. City, Arsenal and Liverpool are way ahead of us and then that leaves one spot (or 2 depending) for us and all other nearly there clubs. Last year we were brilliant, this year it's Villa, next season who knows? We are still in the League Cup, most likely going through the fourth round in FAC and hopefully continue in some European competition after new year. It has been a bloody good season and an excellent one if you count the injuries. Our away form just needs to improve a lot.

Of course fatigue is an important factor. We could and should have brought fresh legs to midfield and in place of Almiron. If you can't change anything you are predictable in long term. These players are giving everything and I have no reason to blame them. Bringing Hall in place of Trippier might give you fresh legs but it also weakens your team in defence and attack. I understand why Howe is not using subs, because Ritchie and Krafth bring nothing to the game

We defended so poorly that I have no reason to blame Dubravka. He is decent keeper and we didn't lose yesterday's match because of him. I think he will get better. Very physical side that Everton team so not an easy task.

City's biggest problem was that midfield. Left back Gvardiol very defensive of course and Foden sacrificed to winger with no support. Rico Lewis was totally bullied as a no 8 and Akanji is so bad on the ball that you cannot except him to make line breaking passes. Should have started with Kovacic, but maybe wasn't fit.

We were tbh. We defended well yes, but there was also horrible finishing. Barcola had 2-3 great chances, Mbappe had 2-3 great chances. Right in the end it looked like we would hold on, and yea VAR decision was turd. Even Gordon tripping Hakimi was more of a penalty, and that would have been super cheap.

Penalty decision was awful. We were riding our luck a bit and were really close to monstrous result. Still good chance to qualify and we are tough to beat at home.

I think we need a CB, CM and a someone who can play couple of positions up top. Not sure we will get 3 in January though..

Dont really get the point that Newcastle finished 4th. Yes, but 3 big teams had a truly shit season and Newcastle was not suffering from Europe. Manchester United is the most successful team in the last 20 years in England, has spent billions in players in last 10 years, and are commercially in totally different league. ManU fans have really lowered their expectations when home losses to Galatasaray, Newcastle and Crystal Palace seem to be accepted these days.

Rashford has been playing there though isnt he? And now you say he is not a striker, but he is a lot better striker than Ben Parkinson. And I rather put Rashford as a striker than Paul Dummett or Emil Krafth as centrebacks. You have had a lot in injuries, but your squad is vastly bigger and more expensive.

Disagree. Joelinton is the only one physical enough to play up top. We need to hold the ball for a while, and not just lose it all the time. Cannot play behind them cause when we break we are way too deep.

Yea, I know Howe's style requires certain type of players. Still, players like Mbappe (of course not as good) are something we need. Intensity doesn't matter if you are constantly losing the ball against top quality opposition and it doesn't matter if you are playing against very organized, world class defense that sits deep. We have seen this against Liverpool and Dortmund at home (a bit unlucky we did not score though they could have scored more) and yesterday. I know injuries are making us a lot worse, but even with our full squad, we are not top top quality European side, like PSG, Dortmund or Milan yet. And it is fine to admit it. We will get there, but we just started this journey. We can have some great results, but in overall play, we have a lot of work to do be top class. We might still qualify, which would be great result. I still think we got to UCL few years too early to really give it a go.

Yea, we won that game nicely. And we won taken few nice wins in the league against big teams. We were awful against Milan and had 1 or maybe 1,5 good chances yesterday, when we desperately needed a win. I mean that our squad is thin and still we are not creating a lot. If you took out best XI, how many players from there would Dortmund or PSG swap for theirs? If you look at the teams from yesterday, how many our players would they take? We are quite clearly underdogs in this group. And it is fine to admit it. Less than 2 years ago we were fighting relegation, of course our team is not good enough. It takes 4-5 years easily.
