Point on the transfer request as mentioned is solid - if he's so desperate to leave, why hasn't he done this? Clearly cares more about not losing his loyalty bonus or burning bridges more than actually leaving. I hope if and when we do entertain a sale, the pre-requisite is for him to hand in a request.

Given how long all the content seems to take to prepare nowadays, that'll be a bigger hold up than the actual formalities. Reckon announcement tomorrow.

Don't sell, can't sell. Any injury to Hall or Tino and we'd suddenly look so much weaker without him. As mentioned, after the Isak saga we need as much leadership and stability as we can get this season.

FWIW - the Mail (and other sources I'd seen this morning) suggest he signed a 4 year deal - https://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-14981523/Two-goalkeepers-leave-Newcastle-Odysseas-Vlachodimos-heads-Spain-Martin-Dubravka-joins-Burnley.html

Damn, that would have been much quicker for the transfer fees! Not sure I trust that Bruno is on £280k per week or Lascelles is on £93k per week though, to name 2 examples.

Of course, was never my intention - but if I get bored this week maybe I will. Was more to see the impact on contract extensions in terms of existing outstanding transfer fees & who's currently hitting this the hardest. Maybe I'll create an editable sheet online or something.

Given I half-arsed it from the first Google results I saw & guessed where 'add-ons' were also involved, I'll take a 0.47 difference! Edit - oh, and Euro to Sterling conversions too were pretty generic.

Even though we're covering (most of) the wages, there must be hope that he can play enough games this season & perform well enough to make somebody want to take a punt on him longer term next summer. Either way, it's better than last season having him around unused at full expense.

It's Monday morning so I've been procrastinating as there's something I've seen mentioned a fair bit but never broken down - how much of each player's transfer fee is still costing us each year in PSR amortisation terms. I'm no expert whatsoever in this field, but I've done some research as to each players impact in terms of the initial reported fee and remaining contract length. Players who have extended their contracts will have 'paid off' more of their transfer fee, so these have been reduced - the later into their initial contract that they signed an extension (or multiple extensions), the bigger the reduction in PSR impact. This was done purely for my own amusement but figured it might be interesting to some of you to share - obviously this doesn't include wages, but you could see for example how a contract extension to Tino, Tonali, Barnes, Hall, Botman or Isak(!!) could pay off in terms of total PSR impact - depending on how big the wage increase would be, of course. Anyway, back to work.

Given that the GK, CB and RW is now sorted, and Wissa seemingly on his way, I'd expect a lot of midfielder noise over the coming week now.

1 injury to any of those 4 and we're fucked.
-
Probably more so he can get his things from Milan and not need to leave Newcastle after the medical and signing takes place.
-
They're in talks for Ouattara from Bournemouth, hopefully that gets sorted soon which will allow Wissa to move up according to Hope.

Pre-season (2026/27): NUFC to play Everton at Murrayfield on 12/08/26

Ashby's looked decent so far and out of position. Hopefully this season he can finally kick on - wonder if he'll stick around or be loaned out again. -
Actually in Dublin as the game was there for some nonsensical reason. But yeah close enough.

Any depth in defence is welcome, 24 only so gotta trust he would be well coached and improved. Know nothing about him but would be excited for anyone right now.

Is it too soon to demand signing a backup right winger? -
Do wonder with all of the different forward links today whether this is an intentional move on our part. When we only have one obvious target (Ekitike/Wissa/Sesko) ongoing, we don't have a lot of negotiating leverage and we look desperate. With a few irons in the fire so to speak, it might help a breakthrough in negotiations. Maybe.

Just needs someone to add (cunt) next to the Isak title and it's quite a Top 5.
