  1. Or we might switch to 4-4-2. It was Eddie’s favorite tactic, and Isak can play the deep lying forward role very well. 4-4-2 can be very powerful with all the high pressing and constant off the ball movement that we play.

And don’t forget we are supposed to be strengthening the squad in a couple of positions for the second half of the season. And Isak hasn’t played much yet. If we keep playing like this, I would say 5th should be our minimum target.
  3. Longstaff has been playing lately since he gets to stay and hold back when Bruno gets forward. If we are playing Willock, then it means Bruno won’t be getting forward as much.
  4. So Burn as a left back and Murphy as a left winger? The entire left side is completely useless. No good play came from there.
  5. And Burn is quite slow for Antony.
  6. I was thinking Antony is a source of danger, and playing only Burn on the left would really expose us. Burn is slow as a left back and Antony will have a lot of free spaces there. Maybe Targett should play instead?
  7. If he does well in the world cup, then I can see other big clubs fight over him in January.
  8. Botman is a beast. One of his best games.
  9. Sorry to say it but Burn is a terrible left back if we expect him to do anything other than his defensive duties.
  10. I am actually thinking be might break Messi’s record of 50 goals in La Liga in a single season.
  11. Eddie shouted so loud I saw the whole of the gum he was chewing.
  12. As much as I have been shitting on Willock, he did well there.
  13. LOL, exactly. So much energy and work rate, terrible decision making and end product.
  14. I was actually thinking of having Wood as our a central forward, and then Isak should play as a left winger instead of Fraser.
  15. Another reason why I really wanted Botman to play is how dangerous he could be in corners/freekicks. He almost scored a few in the last games.

    Joelinton

When we got linked with Edson Alvarez in the last few days of the transfer window, I started to think if Joe can become our defensive midfielder/ destroyer. Alvarez is excellent at winning the ball, and he isn’t much of a great passer that he usually goes with simple passes to the nearest player. Joe is a beast when the opposition has the ball, yet his decision making when he has the ball leaves a lot to be desired. He loses the ball A LOT by badly executed passes or by decisions that are just not the best. In today’s game, I yelled a lot at the TV for the number of balls he lost, but the funny part is that he goes ahead and wins the ball back immediately after losing it. He’s such a warrior. Do you guys think Howe can turn Joe into another Casimiro? He does have similar qualities, and he will boss the midfield by winning the ball, but he isn’t the most productive player in the final third. imagine if he’a our defensive midfielder, Bruno can then play higher up the pitch, and then we can add a great attacking midfielder (like Maddison) in order to assemble a great trio in the middle of the park.
  17. At the end of the game, he beat a defender with two intelligent touches near the corner. I mean he didn’t just beat him by a great dribbling technique, he actually fooled him by his body moves, and he anticipated exactly how the defender would behave. This kid has a good game awareness and flare. I am impressed by him. He does seem to have a high ceiling.
  18. Burn as a left back offers nothing when we have the ball. Targett could make great overlaps with ASM in the left. His crosses might find Wood.
