  1. Which deals haven't been savvy? We pounced for Gordon when Everton were desperate for cash, now £45m looks like a bargain. Kelly has joined on a free. DCL we've tracked for 2 years, now we seem to be making a move as he reaches the last year on his contract.
  2. I think the issue is that we need a RW now whereas these clubs are presumably looking at Minteh as a prospect for the future.
  3. You're making a lot of assumptions there - what our budget is, how much he would cost (last year of his contract), how much his wages would be. If he's £15-20m, on £70k/week and selling Wilson & Almiron still allows us to spend £50-60m on a RW it doesn't look so gloomy.
  4. Do PIP payments count towards FFP income?
  5. I'm assuming that even when the hearing is completed the judges will have a period of time to deliberate, has there been any indication as to how long that is expected to take?
  6. He's Schrodinger's Sporting Director. Simultaneously fantastic at his job & a vital cog in the rejuvenation of Manchester United but also not worth more than a few million quid.
  7. It was Desailly he shrugged off to score that banger back in 2001/2002ish wasn't it? Outrageous goal that, just out-muscles one of the best CBs on the planet and twats it in from about 25 yards.
  8. Presumably Man City will hope we buckle and accept less than £100m once the deadline passes. Hopefully once we get to 00:01 on 1st July Bruno falls into the same category as Isak and someone will have to stump up nearer £200m.
  9. It's difficult to provide any accuracy because you're having to estimate so much. Clubs don't publish their FFP calculations so you just have to put together a best guess based on what is published, so even that "£2m profit required to meet PSR" could be out by a fair margin. Then the 23/24 period you don't even have that. Does he have our domestic match-day income going down from 165.5 to 157.8 by the way or have I misread that?
  10. https://open.spotify.com/track/2hjYhHSqJuzUSeIElQv4DS?si=PqEewEBxQGiYB_Gkrtu9rw Is that it?
  11. First PL manager born after the creation of the Premier League presumably?
  12. I misread the tweet initially and thought it was £53m which I thought was a bit on the low side but clearly shows some intent. £35m though...😬
  13. I think it's pretty much the done thing now, not exclusive to Man Utd
  14. Isn't he on about £200k/week?
  15. Somebody tie @Jack27's hands behind his back...
  16. That's what I'm taking from the story. I don't think we've got a chance of getting Olise but I'd back us to bring in a quality RW for a £60m budget
  17. Mr S Bruce Mr Steve B Steve Barnes Doddsy
  18. Exactly. Ultimately I get the impression this is going to hinge on the arbitration case. If they find in his favour then we'll have to bite the bullet. If they find in our favour then I'm sure we'll settle but it'll be nearer our valuation than theirs.
  19. Well, I wasn't expecting that reply
  20. There's a huge difference between a fuck-up/mistake/error in judgement and a persistent culture of mistreatment which is what is being alleged here.
  21. He raises a lot of good points. The "owner gift" point is a little bit flawed because of the whole amortisation thing - that hypothetical £300m-gift-worth of spending one year is still going to be costing you multiple years down the line in the form of either amortisation on the accounts or payment installations due to other clubs. Plus player contracts obviously. But yeah it's definitely better than what we have now in terms of competitive balance.
  22. I assume Mags+ is just NUFC TV and being a member gets you access to it.
  23. Must be a proper kick in the balls, as it was for us. Make the right moves in the transfer market, hire the right manager, get into the Champions League aaaaaaaand now you have to sell some of your best players. If the rumours about Luiz are true, for well below their value. Even better, you could end up performing better in the Champions League than a fellow PL side and end up with a smaller share of the pot than them. It wasn't too obvious when it was just "The Big Six" and nobody really bothering to challenge them properly, but now you've had Leicester, ourselves and Villa all coming up against the same glass ceiling.
