It’s the ones who are non-stop furious that I love best. Aneurysm levels of stress and anger because they can’t accept the relative statuses of the two clubs -
It drives me a bit mad with just how fucking stupid ‘xG’ is. Completely pointless and a qualitative not quantitative stat

Considering he’s an ex-Mackem, he does tend to be positive when talking about NUFC

You know, with any other set of supporters I’d say you’re right . With that lot - they’ve always tried to pin the ‘delusional’ tag on us, but never was an adjective more apt for that lot -

Honestly, sometimes I can’t tell if it’s joking or not. I suspect this person is serious … (edit: also, six in a row is very much their thing, but it can’t be ‘and counting’, given the last game finished 1-1) -

The usual suspects wanting to see our best players getting injured deliberately, while failing to realise what that says about them -

And flying the Yemeni flag, because they just don’t understand anything about owt -

Just seen the draw - get the fuck in! -
Thing is, if he’d even allowed the club to grow naturally in terms of its other commercial revenue streams and papered SJP in SD ads, he’d still have been in a better position. Instead the club had a skeleton staff of amateurs and incompetents. Every done to date by the new ownership would have been possible under Ashley with just a bit of care and attention. Don’t get me wrong, where PIF likely want to take us would have been beyond Ashley - but there would have been nothing wrong with that.

I’m going to be pedantic, but the ‘Seahorse rising’ statues irritated me for a second (clearly enough for me to write this). They aren’t seahorses on the city crest and club badges, you daft shites. They’re hippocampi.

It is worth considering that the best NUFC days I’d experienced before this were under KK and Bobby Robson. And one thing neither of them managed was beating the top sides as often as Howe manages - and English football is at a far higher level today than then, with a much broader range of good sides (the current top half is filled with really good sides - this Man Utd side isn’t shite, it’s just poor relative to Man Utd sides of the recent past).

Pope’s been quality recently, and he’s definitely out until the New Year with that, but this is why keeping a PL quality GK as a backup is necessary for a club with ambition. I wasn’t ever in the camp that Dubravka was one of the better keepers in the division, but I do think he’s PL quality.

Imaging being a Mackem, obsessively watching the Mags every three or four days, and telling yourself before every game ‘this is the start of when they get found out. They’ll fall to pieces from today’. Imagine actually putting yourself through that willingly. And then imagine at the end of every game, as the realisation dawns that it isn’t coming, and not only is this the new normal, but you’re condemned to do this forever, watching NUFC game after NUFC game, hoping that at some point it comes crashing to earth but knowing it never will. And then imagine that three days later, you’re hoping again.

My guess - and of course I could be completely wrong - is that if we went for Kalvin Phillips on loan there will be a transfer clause in the contract. I don’t get the impression that Howe is the stop-gap short-term fix type

Yeah, no issues from me with people spending the day on the lash - drank down Sheilds Road a few times in the past. Just the odd daft cunt who suddenly thinks he’s Lenny McLean which can wreck a decent afternoon
-
Pretty much every knacker mass ruck I’ve ever seen is embarrassingly shite - for a bunch of needlessly aggressive wankers, none of them ever seem able to throw a punch properly
-
Love the juxtaposition of ‘Live Entertainment’ over a bunch of radgies kicking the shit out of each other

I could picture a West Ham or a Wolves paying decent whack for him in England. A few years back I would’ve said a half decent Spanish club like Betis would have gave us a good fee, can’t see it at the moment.
