Interesting to look at the odds for next game line-up - https://m.skybet.com/football/england-specials/england-starting-xi-vs-switzerland-sat-6th-jul/33861371 Assuming the bookies are right the 11 will be: Pickford, Stones, Walker, Konsa, Trent, Rice, Bellingham, Saka, Mainoo, Kane, Foden This would then be the shape? Pickford Walker Stones Konsa Trent Saka Mainoo Rice Bellingham Foden Kane Trippier's next likely, he's 4/5 to start, of the above Trent is biggest price 1/5. Part of me quite likes it, at least it's a change, but the other part of me believes Southgate's only doing it as it's forced through Guehi missing and feels typical Southgate, super weak approach and we are changing our formation just to match up with the Swiss.
  2. Lol, "the numbers talked about were so low they would not have made a meaningful contribution to the PSR deficit.", this bit kinda gave it away
  3. https://m.skybet.com/football/england-specials/england-starting-xi-vs-slovakia-sun-30th-jun/33823556 6/4 on Pickford, Walker, Stones, Guehi, Trippier, Mainoo, Rice, Saka, Bellingham, Foden, Kane to start Sunday seems very big price to me, would've expected odds on. All the talk is Mainoo will start next game and Foden's going to play, don't see how Shaw can start even if he's fit and it's Southgate so it seems highly unlikely he'll do anything out of the ordinary. Media all seem to know the team 48 hours in advance and Alex Crook has said this is the team Sunday (He wasn't 100% certain when he said it fyi). Only slight concern is the bookies know all of this as well so seems odd... Please gamble responsibly
  4. I don't understand how anyone can possibly think it's a good idea to drop Saka, he's been consistently one of if not our best players for the last 3 years, he's World Class, and he's done more than most this tournament (still not much admittedly). There's two major problems for me, the left side is completely fucked, Trippier isn't good enough to play LB, he's wasteful with the ball, no link up with Foden, Foden was visibly frustrated with him 4-5 times last night for either completely missing the pass to him or under/overhitting it, we need to take Trippier out of the team, Shaw will get zero minutes most likely in the tournament, and I don't trust Trent defensively, the only area ironically that we've looked solid in the tournament, so I would play Gomez there. Second issue is the CM spot alongside Rice, as many others have suggested this seems a very easy fix, play Bellingham deeper, put Foden as a 10 and play Gordon. Beyond infuriating that he brought Gordon on 88th minute ffs, and even still he created something and looked a threat in the tiny amount of time he had. Sadly Southgate's too stubborn to change, and it will very likely be his and our downfall, so I assume next game he'll make just one change with Mainoo coming in for Gallagher, a positive change at least as Mainoo looked good in the 2nd half. The upside is we'll now play against teams who are more progressive and come at us more so we'll create more, but the balance of the team is wrong and we'll likely need a lot of luck to go deep in this tournament. Already, once again, Southgate is running pure with how the draw's playing out, let's see how far that takes us. One thing I can say for absolute certain is if we do somehow win the Euros this Summer, I'll be inspite of Southgate, not because of him!

That's fair enough yeah, but just seemed a bunch of people jumping on the initial statement as if it was some ludicrous statement when it was just a very fair criticism which I found very odd. And yeah, as @SteValluded to, stats can often be used to manipulate a specific point inaccurately, I know what I see every game to know the point on his kicking isn't overstated. However, I do think I possibly undervalued his other abilities and he was certainly a huge miss this season.

His kicking is extremely poor, he's very nervous whenever he has the ball at his feet, often just kicks it out of play and induces pressure on the defence, don't really see how anyone can even dispute that, it's very clear and obvious the limitations he has with his feet. Whether or not the fact he's a fantastic shotstopper means we should just accept that is another question, but it's very fair criticism.
  7. Usually the hype and flags don't come out in force until knockout stages. I'm buzzing for it, will watch every game, 3 games a day what's not to love!
  8. He turned down Chelsea last Summer just fyi, maybe he doesn't fancy going to that crazy club (of course I'm in the land of wishful thinking and trying to convince myself there's a small sweat we can get him )

I was absolutely certain he was leaving after this Euros but with this squad he's named I'm not so sure...

If he goes with the front 6 of Rice Bellingham Saka Foden Gordon Kane We can definitely dream, love it. Are we seeing Southgate 2.0, some big calls with the squad, buzzing for it now!

    Wow, shocked at that
  12. Sure, if its not credible we just keep him. Possible he has at least one more strong year in him.
  13. He's 34 in September, one of our biggest earners, and we have Tino and Hall primed to take on starting roles RB/LB, so whilst he should go down as one of if not our best ever defenders, and one of our best ever signings, for 15m would wish him well and move him on.
  14. I had Club Wembley ticket and it didn't sell through their portal, 10 pages of tickets didn't sell
  15. Guess we just see things very differently, not sure how you could think they beat us comfortably either, I'm not a stats guy but think literally every stat from that game would suggest differently. All gud, we all have our own opinions, hope they enjoy the conference league whilst we crush the Premier league ?
  16. OK, but surely it makes no sense to even reference the fact we were "doghsit" for a period of the season if we aren't talking about the season as a whole? No complaints from me, fair play to them today, deserved the win. Anyways, fuck them, 90%+ of their fans will never know what it feels like fo truly actually give a fuck, and I'm being generous with 90, feel sorry for them more than I envy them.
  17. The cunts had a fucking negative goal difference ffs, maybe I've just lost my mind lol.... I'm genuinely not that disappointed about Europe, would've enjoyed the trips but it's not about that, just don't understand the logic of the statement (I've been on the beers since 12 so maybe I'm just being a twat lol, apologies if so)
  18. I'm not suggesting we should change the rules obviously, but I read it implying over the season they deserved it more, which I think is ludicrous, if I misread it my bad but pretty sure that was what was meant?
  19. No idea how you could possibly think that mate, they were good today for sure, although City honestly where the worst I've seen them in years, but Man U have been fucking awful this season, can't think of any logical reason to suggest they "deserved" it more than we did. This is not bitterness, this could end up being a blessing for us to bigger things, just don't understand how you could possibly make that statement. So many games this season they've been utterly dreadful, we've been poor defensively in many games no doubt, can never question our heart or desire though, or our tactical structure or what the manager is trying to do, them the on the hand, there a fucking embarrassment of a club from top to bottom.
  20. Literally fucking unbelievable this like, there'll never be a club that fucks me more than these cunts man fucking hell
  21. Don't think it's even close, Bowen's very good but with FPP limits we just can't buy a premium player at that price range and age. If we have Tosin, Kelly and Mamardashvili in the door by June gunna be buzzing for next season.
