Was just looking at FPL. People are raving at Gordon coming back. What would be the safest choice (playing time plus g/a threat over the next few)? Barnes, Murphy or Gordon? Apologies for asking about FPL in the Gordon thread.
-
Reckon this guy will start if he's ready (and Isak is ready aswell)? Barnes has been great lately..
-
He did play well at RB right after his arrival. I think it's probably just a bit of a coincidence. He will probably hit similar form at RB in the future. One thing is for sure, he can definetly cover LB when needed.

Tbf he had a great season last season aswell. His time in Man Utd doesn't count. Players consistenly get better after leaving them. We just like to call players trash if they're not from a different league and have an exotic name.
-
Yeah, also if they finish 6th or 7th, the other team at 6-7th will get the other spot.
-
Given their recent form, I doubt Bournemouth will finish top 7. They've got some difficult fixtures left aswell.

I like how Bruces response just escalated it, meaning Gayles comments are getting more coverage thanks to that. Let everyone hear what Gayle said, thanks. I'm seeing a shift in the comments from what they usually were like in videos regarding Bruce, when people hear what Gayle was saying, the know that it's not like he would make it all up.

Exactly, it would be much more likely for something to happen next summer if he doesn't sign a new contract. Even if he's considering other options, I doubt that he would be firmly against staying for another year, and then we will see where we are at after that. Fans of other clubs obviously buys the media talk, and when I try to reason with them, I'm being defensive since I'm a Newcastle fan. They made exact same arguments with Bruno the last 2 summers. "Waving goodbye to the fans" ffs. I'd be embarassed if I bought the media narratives like that, and then nothing happened. In 2023 I made a bet with a Barca fan on Bruno going, I gave him 5:2 in his favour, and added the january window on top of that, just to make all his comments even more humiliating when he lost. To him it was so obvious that he would leave. Never heard anything from him after, and he never paid up. Considering making more bets with Arsenal and Pool fans this summer on Isak, that should atleast humble them when nothing happens once again.

It's pretty much like the Bruce "without comparing budgets" comment. It has nothing to do with their lack of skill, it's all about the budget.
-
"Without comparing budgets." How about we compare your budget to Rafas? Ah, it doesn't work both ways, only when you can be victim. My bad.

You know you've lost when you have to resort to personal attacks.

Another "problem" for Barnes is that Gordon barely ever gets injured. As long as Gordon is ready to play, he starts (atleast up until this point). Again, it's that awkward bit where we wish Barnes was an RW with an excellent left foot instead of right foot.

There are certain players that Howe will allways prefer as first choice, even if the backup did well while he was away. For example Burn straight back at LB last season when Livra was doing well there. Barnes was benched at the start of the season during a run of form, since Howe wanted Gordon back at his preferred position. Maybe things will be different this time though, lets see..

Remember when he was subbed after screaming and holding his knee, but then he was back the next game? He can take it all, don't worry.
-
He said in the interview that the ban played its part in the decision.

If Guehi is worth £70m, that means BDB is worth £100m.

He was just a lazy manager.. Didn't bother to put the extra work in, and when someone gets critical about it, he plays the victim and turns to gaslighting. Classic lazy employee. It was so obvious that Graeme Jones saved us, but Bruce claimed all the glory for it, as usual.

Powerful speech.

VVD is so tired of Isak, his reaction says it all. Oh, and that cross from Livra with his weaker foot becomes more impressive everytime I see it. Like he's running away from the box right before it, hit it with his weak foot, and it was still so precise. Edit: quoted the wrong post
-
Yes, but that depends on how much all the other top clubs are willing to give him. If several clubs triggers the clause, he can really pump those numbers up if he wants to.

Sportswashing ofcourse gets thrown around again (coincidentally mostly by Liverpool followers), but is it just my Newcastle glasses when I'm not really seeing it? So apart from the green away kits and Saudi games at St James, in what way is us winning a cup or so directing attention away from Saudi human rights? Did anyone other than certain Newcastle fans feel positive emotions towards Saudi Arabia because Saudi owned Newcastle won a cup? As long as we are not waving a bunch of Saudi flags at our stadium etc (I don't think we do?), I'm not really seeing how our success affects their international reputation atm, other than for some Newcastle supporters. The Saudis are staying quietly in the background atm, moreso than I thought they would initially. I get the impression that they aren't even that much involved in many decisions, unlike the PSG owners. Sometimes I get the feeling that the real point was that it was kind of a show off for their own population, and maybe they even want to distract their own population from certain things. But I don't currently see how it works internationally. No clue if that's my Newcastle glasses over here.

Ah, that's doable. But that obviously means so much competition, and probably really high wages.
