90th min goal so pre extra time. The only thing of note in extra time I suppose was the Gordon red and the missed chance from Soucek

So frustrating, Dummett can get fucked and I am done with Longstaff. Shit performance after shit performance. Definite penalty but for me Tarkowski should have been sent off minutes before, although we didn’t get a proper second look. Surely it’s worth a booking for the cynical nature of the foul and then worthy of upgrading to a red for stamping down on his achilles?
-
So annoying, gained nothing from that; just a split second early. Rules are rules, need to keep going!
-
Poor start this, need to regain control!
-
End the games now. Wolves, West Ham and Fulham losing. Need to start building a gap
-
Does make you wonder why Howe hasn’t trusted Hall before. He’s defended very well and his quality on the ball is no surprise, really happy for him!
-
Some really good performances there. Isak, Anderson, Hall, Murphy to name a few. Feel like we will concede a set piece at some point but hoping we will take one or two of our chances in the second half Most impressed with Murphy personally, picking it up in some good spots

Longstaff has been garbage recently but I am quite glad he is starting today. Willock can change the game if needed, Longstaff can’t but can still do a job from the start if he is on it and with nobody else obvious on the bench we could do with some option!

Wonder if Shola has a child due to come through the academy soon…
-
Even if he is suspect defensively, we are absolutely terrible at the back at the moment without him so we may as well be terrible at the back with him albeit with more of an attacking threat that he brings.
-
I think he is saying that the gambling ended two weeks before he was banned for gambling, not the duration of the gambling in England

https://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-12636957/Italian-betting-scandal-sandro-tonali-nicolo-zaniolo.html 16th October when he first got investigated so he stopped immediately, this changes nothing unless he has gambled on us whilst playing for us.
-
Why? He made a mistake that he is already being punished for and seemingly hasn't gambled since. This changes nothing, him moving countries wasn't going to mean he randomly stopped being addicted to gambling.

Sven Botman: Out for up to 8 weeks after minor Knee operation (Howe)
Vaj replied to The Prophet's topic in Football
This again is another example of the financial rules being a load of shit, we will now be expected to continue to struggle on missing our best players because we can't afford to replace them, or have to sacrifice money in other positions that need strengthening to replace Botman. -

Wouldn't be praising anyone for staying fit when you consider the performances he was putting in. He is our best defender but had got to the point where some were wanting to see Lascelles play ahead of him instead because he clearly wasn't himself. -

No way that it is coincidence. He has looked a shadow of his former self since he returned so it was clearly still bothering him. Terrible from all involved in this, should have had surgery straight away. -
Huge game! At a wedding so can’t watch it unfortunately. Win this and we have a great chance of finishing above them, especially with them concentrating on Europe
-
The fist time he received the ball you could see his quality. Let’s give him some games, nothing to lose if he is signing either way
-
No issues with Howe at all tonight, Man City are unbelievable and losing felt pretty inevitable. Without the bad luck for the goals, who knows what could have happened. Season far from over, 8th has a decent shout of being Europe and we have a decent run in on paper. Let’s go again in a few weeks!

I think there is probably a middle ground between the two arguments personally. Miley hasn't started any of the last three games but Longstaff has started all three of them and has been the worst I have seen him in years in two of them (Blackburn and Chelsea), playing 90 minutes twice and 120 minutes in the cup. If he is struggling with an injury he should not have played all three of these games and Miley could have started one of them instead and for me is one of my concerns for this season in terms of the amount of injuries there have been, you do wonder if some can be avoided by rotating a little bit more.
-
Might be knee jerk but for the first time I want him to stay and feel like he deserves another season with all the injuries we have had, but I wouldn’t be too disheartened if he was to go. Anyone else feel like this?
-
Always thought this. The whole team suffers with his absence. The defence either stays as high as they do but have no keeper to sweep and get exposed for pace or they drop deep to compensate for this and the gap between defence and midfield causes us issues. Desperate for him to return
-
He makes the run but if the ball isn’t perfect he rarely gets on the end of it because he is so slow. Can’t be arsed watching him plod around the pitch, falling over when someone breathes on him and throwing his arms in the air as he loses the ball once again
-
This has been awful. They’re shit

Is this the worst Longstaff performance yet? Fuck me
