  1. Anything above 5m is a massive victory - turning a profit on a guy who forgot to switch his email account over.... That's addition by subtraction in and of itself, and we get a bounty for him too?
  2. 30m and tears of frustration from the big 6 or we walk
  3. Thought Gordon looked absolutely atrocious at striker last season tbf

    John Ruddy

Brilliant interview. Culture is so crucial especially when you look at what happens when it goes wrong (see Man Utd), and he seems a consummate professional and serious about his work.
  5. Very true, and also, what RW wouldn't want to hoist the PL trophy next season?
  6. Think everyone in here needs to move on and be glad the club has managed to swindle 35m for, ostensibly, the next Matt Ritchie... (When is July?)
  7. Have a feeling we'll spend more than many expect... Another spend now, pay later scenario perhaps
  8. Yea and Chris Wood had 14 this year - Minteh subbed regularly which is why per 90 is the more telling figure imo Not saying he's the next Mane, or that he won't end up being a dud, but we shouldn't pretend the numbers are not extremely impressive.
  9. Really not interested in reigniting this argument - but objectively hilarious multiple people have referred to his goal comp per 90 min season, as a 19 year, as a "half decent season". All that said happy we've covered for PSR... Have a feeling we're going to spend big this summer and we'll be happy when its all said and done.
  10. Sky fuming we're about to go on the attack in the market
  11. To be fair, we don't know how much in excess of Minteh's fee we were over. Some (large) portion of the Anderson sale might just be banked cash to bring in some first team talent this window
  12. They don't - its all bluster... And, in addition to that, they're scared we're going to start spending with the new accounting period opening
  13. I recognize Im probably in this category as well. But I just dont see the evil in saying yea, this was the right move in our current predicament, but that doesn't mean it was prudent management from the get-go
  14. They'd be buzzing that we uncovered the next big thing, which is what Brighton are cheering as we bicker
  15. 80+ million pound on two co-lieutenants on the left wing, with miggy almiron starting on the right, under PSR constraints, is a misallocation any way you slice it
  16. Matching the highest fee Brighton's ever paid, and for a 19 year old no less, I think really tells the whole story. It does not diminish your fandom to be critical of the club, and I cannot understand why so many have such a visceral reaction to even the suggestion that this was not the optimal way of meeting PSR constraints. Just no need to get so worked up about valid criticism. Right move in the here and now? Absolutely. Are fans allowed to be upset we've let a true talent go because we've made some questionable moves? Yes.
  17. Quite literally exactly like selling Foden at 18/19, before he was a known quantity, and all he had was promise
  18. You won't have the luxury of forgetting him when he's starting on the RW for Brighton mate
  19. Bang on - unbecoming of Staveley's (stated) aspirations
  20. Actually the money he brought in has been expended well in advance of his leaving - this is why some posters are (rightfully) criticizing the strange Barnes acquisition when we had needs on the RW. This move was to cover a shortfall, not to spend now.
  21. I have no doubt he is going to impress next season, and it will be painful to watch. But unfortunately the club pressed itself into a corner with this one and it seemed there was really no other way out
  22. And remember - Hall transaction will now be on the books
