he's being almost universally lauded as a superstar these days unless we can afford to pay those sort of wages, I think it's unlikely he'll end up signing a new contract, and we'll have to cash in rules are clearly anti-competitive will enjoy while it lasts, reckon he'll be here another year at least hope I'm wrong and he stays forever

didn't sit well with me that he might be leaving in the middle of this great run of which he has played a very important part he seems to be very good at finding Hall which is a really effective outball for us still not as commanding as Pope but I think his passing makes us more comfortable in possession which takes a lot of pressure of the team please stay

this is so much more insightful than anything you get on Sky these days those who think Eddie Howe isn't good tactically should watch it and agree it was a very brave move as he'd have been slaughtered by many if it had backfired

White Hart Lane / Hotsput Stadium is our favourite PL away game for wins, but I don't think we ever beat them when they played at Wembley? doesn't really bare thinking about until we finish the job against Arse like others the thought of losing to them makes me feel ill

Last night could be monumental result for the club, especially off the back of the MU and Spurs also on the road even if we don't win the competition this time, I think the experience of playing in these type of big games will be crucial going forward a final against MU, all the CL games last season, a 2 leg semi final against Arsenal and potentially another final against Liverpool - should mean this team is more mentally equipped to deal with the next final or CL campaign etc. I think we struggled with the occasion in the 2023 final and perhaps a bit in the CL too as I said, even if we go on to lose the final, it's all part of the journey and growing experience there will no doubt be plenty of bumps along the road but sure Klopp lost quite a few finals before success finally came to him at Liverpool, Ancelotti similar in Italy and am sure there are plenty of other examples so glad the club have stuck by Howe and I'm sure success will come if they continue to do so, with a bit of luck I think it's just a matter of time

Nunez is another professional thug like Van Dijk https://x.com/irish_gooner/status/1876357393094992106?s=46&t=IGuAE0ZAPXoYvwhtFYvR3w

playing well but losing too many corners they will probably score
-
can yellows be appealed / rescinded? because if Joelinton gets another yellow in the second leg and misses the final should we get there, it would be a disgrace
-
Atleti's new stadium looks amazing and seems to generate a brilliant atmosphere, so can be done was sad to see them leave the old one a few years ago
-
lack of self awareness from Arsenal fans is astonishing alright they never mention Havertz getting away with a vicious ankle breaker on Longstaff before all the aggro kicked off, and all the ugly and boring football they played Spurs fans the same - all talk about decisions that didn't go their way, not a word about Kulu breaking Gordon's nose in their penalty box of course the London-centric media perpetuates all their biased narratives
-
great to see Forest up there and ruffling some feathers love to see it along with Spurs and MU languishing in the bottom half my fear is this won't last, Forest will be deducted more points and the others will be able to spend their way back up the league

The 2-0 QF defeat in 1996 at Highbury still hurts after all these years, especially Ginola getting played by Dixon and his subsequent loss of form that game also happened to be live on ITV even if we don't go all the way, some payback here would be sweet (even though their fans don't really care about this)
-
the way their arrogant fans are talking on their shite forum you'd think they had the worst injury crisis ever and all refs are against them most of them not bothered about it really hope their fans' negativity transmits to their players and we can take advantage seeing us play without Bruno though is gonna be tough obs Schar a huge loss as well more hopeful of a draw than confident would rather win this trophy than qualify for Europe

edit - sorry wrong thread
-
just 12 points clear of them again 29 years later, nothing to worry about...
-
another league double for Howe's Toon over Spurs and 3 in a row against their crybaby manager love to see it
-
almost back to his best in recent weeks very confident finish on his weaker foot great to see such an important player for his attacking threat and overrall workrate why do players keep getting away with smashing him in the face though?
-
looks like they're without at least 9 compared to our 5 will never get a better time to play them there
-
Spurs situation sounds almost exactly like us last season flogging the same players over and over due to injuries, bringing back players too soon and getting reinjured, fatigue from so many games, fans blaming manager for injury crisis etc (still think our situation was worse when we had 12 out last Nov/Dec and were playing the same 11 for something like 6 games in a row and hardly a single substitution made in that time) almost feel sorry for them hopefully our lot are absolutely ruthless tomorrow
-
reckon Evan Ferguson would be a really good back up striker / one for the future if available still a huge talent and very young, but his stock has plummeted since his hat-trick against us so could be a viable option
-
I hope Isak has been working on his 1 v 1 finishing, though he's usually great against Spurs another away win would be incredible, draw not too bad love seeing Spurs and MU languishing in the bottom half, long may it continue
