Liverpool are gonna fuck us up next week was quietly confident about that game before Wham, now dreading it
-
was Isak's offside goal proven to be correct decision? and was any official reason given by VAR for not suggesting the rugby tackle on Wilson should've been a penalty? overall very frustrating result, felt like we needed that early goal to kick on confidence is such a fragile thing in football and the second killed us think our biggest issue this season has been Isak and Gordon missing too many chances was never expecting it to be an easy game as Wham, although poor this season, have a lot of quality, and the league this season is incredible tight surprised to see so many fans leaving early, did they forget we staged a late comeback to be Wham last season after being 1-3 down? I know it never looked likely after we lost our shape second half but still disappointing

from what I've seen he's been anonymous for Italy tonight, so far
-
I think he's great but doubt he'll ever be as extraordinary as Henry was I would hate selling him, particularly as such a player is almost impossible to replace only injuries can hold him back really if clubs start offering over £100m and we're not in the CL then I accept it'll be very difficult to keep him hopefully if that happens the club will have a good transfer strategy and use the money as effectively as Liverpool did with Coutinho or Spurs with Bale

was also really good against Arsenal people so quick to forget
-
the recent impact of Joelinton, Willock, Tonali and Barnes makes me feel more acutely how much we missed them for what was probably about 70% last season on average would've easily qualified for Europe had they been more available - and then clear favourites for Conference League this season! on top of the all the other injuries such as Pope missing half the season, Isak out for numerous games/not fully fit, Wilson the usual etc also the time it took to get Hall up to speed and integrate him into the team always hard to be optimistic with Newcastle after so many heartbreaks, but really think there's huge potential with this squad if we can avoid too many injuries this season
-
what's with Ange not looking at the camera when he's being interviewed? is it something he only does when he loses? Klopp used to do it and comes across as really obnoxious, can understand if Spurs fans are getting fed up with him

I've always had a soft spot for Forest since the mid nineties so checked in on their forum before and after the game most seemed very confident beforehand, without the snide arrogance you see from fans of the cartel clubs afterwards most were full of praise for Newcastle, comments like best team they've played this season, very well coached etc. https://www.forestforum.co.uk/index.php?threads/matchday-11-nffc-v-newcastle-united-10-11-24-14-00-official-matchday-thread.52657/page-29 just nice to see their fans for the most part appear pretty sound and their club is competing at a high level again, would love to see them displacing the likes of Spurs great win for us - other results and table shows how competitive the top half is going to be this season. MU languishing in the bottom half yet only 4 points of third is crazy. Imagine the meltdowns Arsenal and Spurs fans will be having, Villa too perhaps!

I'd like to see him having some free kick attempts on goal He's got great shooting and passing technique so I'm sure this is something he'll have in his locker apart from Schar and Tripps I can't remember anyone else taking them in recent seasons, and their success rate not too great the last couple of years think it would be good to mix it up - same applies to Tonali

“They are really good at what they do,” he said. “They drag you into the sort of game they want. They are all big and very physical, Joelinton especially.”
-
Howe singled him out after Chelsea job - nothing most of us don't already know but nice to hear it from the manager: "I have to say a special well done to Joelinton today. His versatility is just incredible, he’s such a bonus for us to be able to play him wide left, wide right, wingback, brilliant performance. "It’s a difficult position for me to pick (left wing) because we have an array of riches on that side with Anthony (Gordon), Harvey (Barnes), Joe (Willock) and Joelinton. "When Joelinton and Joe Willock play together, they dovetail in that position really well. I’m not sure what the final solution to that is, other than that we have very good players competing for places, which is what we need in all areas of the pitch. “Today, we utilised Anthony on the right of the pitch, and I thought he did fine. I thought Joelinton and Joe Willock did really well down the left, and I was delighted with the solidity they both gave us. "He’s not your conventional winger - he’s a hybrid of different qualities, but plays the position brilliantly for me. He always has done. If someone said to me, ‘What’s Joelinton’s best position’, I’d struggle to give you one answer. "That’s a brilliant thing for me to have within the squad, but sometimes when you pick a team, it’s not just about having a player in a certain position, it’s about the relationships that they form around them. "It’s the understanding, and bringing the best out of other players. I thought Joelinton and Joe Willock did that together.”

fondly remember Duffer scoring late winner against Spurs after great play by Viduka apart from that he was very disappointing he was brilliant for Blackburn Chelsea, and Spurs fans were really annoyed he went to us instead of them
-
Isak and Gordon being assessed today after niggling injuries according to Howe there's always something!
-
presumably Ratcliffe penny pinching again, surely they could pay a bit extra comp to release Amorim and his coaching staff earlier instead of wasting a couple of weeks that could prove valuable
-
revenge for last season's cup game at the Bridge where they injured him and Krafth and escaped 2 reds
-
are they still crying about Gordon's goal costing them the league? (as if a 0-0 would've made any difference) a pity it's an early KO, no doubt SJP would be a lot more raucous under the lights like last season draw would be good result, win would be phenomenal please Havertz gets sent off this time and we smash them
-
Spurs really have to go for it after Ange's boast about always winning a trophy in his second season and similar to us they badly crave a trophy of any kind when we got to the quarters in 2023 it felt more open Soton eliminated City then, would be great if they could repeat the trick with Pool nice to have a very winnable QF to look forward to anyway us against MU/Spurs/Arse/Pool over 2 legs if we get to the semis would be massive one of the reasons I'd love to win this comp is also because it's so difficult these days for any club outside the usual suspects
-
I couldn't believe MU got a difficult away draw they've literally had about 15 homes on the spin in domestic cups if you discount the non-leaguey draws
-
also can't be flogging Bruno every game on top of all his South American games
-
we won at Old Trafford this stage last season with Bruno on the bench, only brought him on when MU brought on their big hitters hopefully similar result tonight
-
8 changes for Brighton against Liverpool ffs you'd think they'd be trying a bit harder to win this competition
-
am worried about Joao Felix - ridiculously talented player and crazy he's ended up back at Chelsea as part of their b team and if it's not going well they'll just bring on Palmer we can only dream of such luxuries gonna be a tough game if they're up for it
-
I'd give my right arm for the LC so nervous about tomorrow
-
if only the football gods could have struck down Palmer last weekend instead of our Gordon think we would've won sigh
-
any update? was expecting weeks out but maybe no news is good news
