I mean, Bowen did nearly get the assist but for a great save when he immediately came on, but did anything else literally happen after that? Can't say it was a good sub based on one single contribution. He's not a ball retention player, so outside that, he was a passenger for rest of the game.

See Olise is in the France provisional Olympic Squad. May have an impact on his future being decided one way or another early on in summer.
-
Bit of a meh game, job done though whilst being unspectacular. Only can take game by game, but would hope overall performance is better come QFs when we face a good side. Would’ve liked to seen Gordon for Foden for final 20. Game just felt suited to him, and could’ve been the environment to show everyone what he’s capable of outside of us Newcastle fans. Bit shit that Bowen was preferred, who’s average for what he brings IMO. Understand Saka wasn’t fully fit, but move Foden there and Gordon LW. My only bias opinion from last night.

Could see him going to PSG. Shame, would like to see him in prem.
-
Like those BBC clips there with Walker, TAA would be smashing those crosses in. He won’t be in those positions to do that in CM. Should just play him RB.
-
Played a few times there for England and he’s been average at best. Has some good passes (which we know he’s got), but positionally, was not good.
-
Always feel it’s telling when one of the worlds best managers last summer decided to not go with TAA in CM, and instead be happy to spend £100m+ on CMs, rather than sign a RB and move TAA there.

Miley will surpass him in the hype machine by WC26.

Of all the players we've been linked with in recent seasons and either signed/missed out on, Tino for me has been only one we had to sign and couldn't miss out on. Just simply because he looked so fucking good at 19, and for me is future England RB post Walker. Just has everything you need in a modern full back, with a solid defensive head already which will improve in age. Outside him, Olise is the next one. Proper legit player, who's on cusp of taking the next step. Will be proper jealous of whoever gets him if not us. Hopefully being part of Chelsea/Man City youth sees him want to stay away, and not go back to 'prove' people wrong.

But then they have Faes at CB and a 45 year old Vardy up front. Think 45 points would be their total, so their points deduction will make it twitchy for them.
-
It’s amazing what a good PR can do for your career to keep a reputation high. Suspect we and Brighton will look back on his spells as short lived, and thankful it wasn’t long term.
-
Mostly because they don’t need to defend. Easy ride in truth.

Man Utd will continue to be a mess next season as ETH has no clue who he wants in his side or how they play. Guy start of season was happy to discard McTominay, ended up being a key player and saving him loads. Hojlund ended the season as back up to Fernandes who was playing false 9. Fernandes and Mount can’t be in same team, unless you play Mount RW. Defence was fixated on Varane/Martinez being available, when they were ran through by Wolves and Brentford start of season. Think the best people will see of ETH was first season, and that involved not winning away to any of the top 9 sides. Cups do the heavy lifting, which he’s shown he can be a good pragmatic manager in one off games, but it’s also needed to come with constant home draws along the way. I admire any Man Utd fans who stick behind him, but for me, it’s a blessing for Newcastle. One more side we should be confident of finishing above next season.

Yea, still goes. Pep is a manager where it's 'if you don't want to be here, off you go'. Just then comes to club getting best deal as a possible.
-
Good profit. Doubled their money. But for one of them, they've also got Sangare who cost £30m and probably will be stuck with him for a while.
-
Romano probably heard 'Five year deal including add on', and rushed to tweet and interpreted it as 4+1. When it's actually 5+1. Tweet again shortly referencing Orny.
-
Just covers a future sale. Can get 4 years out of him, then sell him without worrying about his contract. Still performing, can either give him a deal, or keep him around for essentially 2 more years as a squad player (which if you are a well functioning club, the sale would've been made).
-
I really hope we sign him, if finances are there. Improved each season for last three, and feels this is the summer window he could be signed. Don't, would expect him to move to one of the other 'big' sides in 2025 when he continues his upward trajectory, and would be in England squad under new manager. Can take the ball on the half turn in central areas, which is the type of player we so badly lack in our attacking cohort. Strong centrally, but good in wide areas too if allowed to drift inside to find the ball. Him and Gordon played so well together at U21s in 2023, which must help drive the interest.
-
Chelsea Just wild spending each summer on who's the in player and who's of interest to the main guy pulling the strings that transfer window. Mentioned Hutchinson in other thread, but I would be all for us signing him on loan with option to buy (that's easily met). Rate him highly and with a lot of room to grow.
-
Just like Gordon, I’d be confident on MGW output increasing at us. Playing in a side that’s attacking more, dominating games and creating better chances, will always see players outputs increase if they’ve got the ability.
-
They all played games though, and all had various levels of mistakes in those games. Goalkeeper, the mistakes are more punishing but still are needed as part of the learning. If we’re signing him, it needs to be loan out or playing him from word go and accept he’ll have some shockers next season. Can’t be on bench IMO. Guy needs to get back playing after being dropped by Burnley.
-
Even if he does, a year on the training ground isn’t going to make him a prem goalkeeper without many errors. He could end up playing in 25/26 where his last prem game was being dropped for poor form in 23/24 season. Would need a loan. If we sign him, then loan him out to a championship club, I would be more happy IMO. Gets him that experience and he’s on our books ready for 25/26.
-
Che Adams if it’s just a body we need for a season who can then become 3rd choice if that’s required. Otherwise, evaluate the loan options as deals become available. Broja on loan last season if a similar type is available.
-
We don’t need a third striker. Just need to replace Wilson. Worse case, you have Gordon and Joelinton who can fill in for odd game/moment if required. Rather have more depth elsewhere than a 3rd striker.
