  1. People get fixated on the upgrade to Wilson being overall the big improvement, when anyone replacing Isak is a monumental MASSIVE downgrade. Guy does so much that your normal striker does not do. We will be worse off regardless if Isak goes this summer, especially the optics and everything associated.
  2. All up front Hopefully Sesko only wants Man Utd.
  3. Counter argument, it provides weight for it to be resolved privately (then leaked publically) tomorrow. Isak stays, Shearer will change his tune. Isak doubles down, Shearer comments echo louder.
  4. If we're desperate for a striker, just go back to Brentford with £40m and see what they say? Sesko is literally a waste of time. Isak we don't have to sell this summer. Rather take £120m for him next summer and plan a whole year with a DoF / CEO on his proper replacement instead of doing this stupid dance for Sesko.
  5. KDH off to Everton for £25m+ Chelsea have done it again. That will be Xavi Simons arriving by end of this week.
  6. That will be the PR run if he's brought back in. He's been slowly nursing that all pre-season, and whilst bid did come in for him from Liverpool, Isak was always focussed on Newcastle and returning in best fitness he can be.
  7. Played advanced CM on a few occassions. He's not your typical deeper CM, but then if we've got Bruno, Joelinton, Tonali for that, we probably want someone who can play ahead of them in an attacking shape. He's young enough to mould into the CM/CAM profile a club would want long term. It's getting to OTT prices, but if we're looking at £45m mark for a CM, I really don't think you can go wrong with Dibling. Always have been and always will be, a massive advocate of this current English generation. The talent pool is an absolute joke.
  8. Bit similar profile to Palmer IMO, where he's not really a winger (can play there), but you want him centrally because of his ability on the ball to glide past players / play the pass.
  9. He'll be longer term a CM/CAM, where he spent majority of his youth career. Considering Willock by start of next season shouldn't be here, Dibling would be a superb opportunistic buy to have integrated into the CM fold, with him and Miley the young ones moving forward and club then signing an experienced guy next summer.
  10. Surprised EPL clubs haven't kicked off over some hypoteical scenario where we are happy for Isak to go for £150m+ (because Isak isn't renewing in any circumstances), but Liverpool can't afford it without selling someone. No-one wanting to buy Nunez, step forward PIF to buy, so Liverpool can then pay Isak £150m+ fee largely upfront, so we get what we want via some PIF support.
  11. I can't see Isak doing a Wissa. End of day, if he has to stay (and he reluctantly agrees to it), he's still playing in the UCL, heading towards a World Cup (that may be his only one in his career) and outside 3 sides (Arsenal, Liverpool, Man City) have a strong a chance as any to win the competitions he's involved in. Not exactly a situation of having some knock off B-Tech coach in charge who was doing the set pieces last season, after seeing your top player leave and your one chance of UCL potentially drift away in your final footballing years.
  12. I find it so cringey the journos having pops at each other on twitter. Just says it all about their profession, get out and get a new career as the media is in the gutter. Can't be enjoyable.
  13. Aston Villa need a striker, only got Watkins. If they're in talks for Asensio, I'm sure they would ask the question about Ramos to see what the crack is. Spurs got Solanke as the big ticket forward and would need to move on Richarlison before signing another (especially a high cost one). Wissa is someone I can see them going for if Frank wants an attacker.
  14. If guy wants to move for £150m, Liverpool sure as hell will be telling him to train and get fitness / sharpness up, whilst they work on a deal. You don't spend that much on a player who then turns up 6+ weeks behind fitness of the rest of your squad, have to play catch up, then get injured doing so.
  15. Because we usually arrive at a certain time for training as previous seasons?
  16. The fee being acceptable the only thing encouraging things. Not like we have to increase it, it's just the structure and sell on package.

  18. Let's aim more ambitious, it's an agent of one of the Inter boys (Thuram / Bisseck).
  19. Gauntlet essentially sent down not just from Eddie, but from likes of Bruno / Trippier / Gordon etc. As much as they're Eddies words, he will be echoing the players thoughts with "The player has a responsibility here to be part of a team, to be part of a squad (and) No player can expect to act poorly and train with the group as normal." Ball is firmly in Isak court now. He can accept he's gone about things wrong way, come back and prove a point to his fellow pros and if the £150m+ bid comes, could still leave on more amicable terms (to Eddie and the players), or he can kick up a fuss and he's an isolated figure with no gurantee that a move will happen.
  20. Especially for the fee. Wasn’t like it was an opportunistic buy, paying premium price. Oderbert / Tel Solanke / Richarlison Johnson / Kulu I can imagine Frank would want an attacker signing, but means needing to move on of them on. Step forward PIF with a £70m bid for Richarlison.
  21. Would expect some of the coaching staff to go to training centre or somewhere to meet with Isak face to face today, establish what the crack is ahead of tomorrow. They will not want a situation of assuming he’s going to turn up at 9am tomorrow, they’ll want ground rules laying down before all players are there. Some point this afternoon would expect noise to be leaked that either Isak is settled to come back, options still open or, Isak has told Howe he’s not coming to training and wants out.
  22. If Isak comes back to training and attitude isn’t honking, we pull out of this deal IMO. Serves us no purpose to still be chasing this when supposedly no other clubs are making bids right now. If we have to prioritise someone, just get Wissa and get a CB / CM signed up too urgently.
  23. Going to be a long season for Bournemouth.
  24. Who was it that had a hard on for Evanilson? Junk player for £40m.
  25. He seemed to have a bit of spark about him last season before he got injured. Could be one to watch this season in championship and a low cost, good potential RW signing if he recovers well.
