  1. I'm just glad Steve Bruce's parents never had to watch that video, it would've broke their heart
  2. I don't think you understand how threads about your rivals work marra.
  3. They probably just sold the burger van outside the stadium to themselves
  4. 100% People often wonder what the 'no dickhead' policy looks like. Well, if someone is choosing to sit among the scrapheap of medicore mercenaries that Chelsea have horded over the years and not build a meaningful connection with the fans instead of playing a key role in an exciting project where the fans will instantly adore and idolise them then quite frankly they can get themselves to fuck. Sure, 7 years on 150k a week is attractive, but to me it shows that he doesn't back himself to earn an even better contract in the future. What's to stop complacency setting in for this guy when now that his future is secured? I'm sure he'd get a 5 year deal on 120k a week with us and after 2/3 years get a new deal and a handsome payrise to go with it or get a move to a true European giant. You won, Joao. Enjoy the money, I hope it makes you very happy. Dear lord, what a sad little life, Joao.
  5. Yep, we've had tremendous success with the non PL players but the key with all the PL based players we've signed is that they've all been 'stressed assets' somewhat where we've taken advantage of a situation like vultures Tino: Relegated and suffered horrific injury Hall: Slipped way down the pecking order and Chelsea need a PSR flip Gordon: Everton were desperate for the funds and AG forced the move Barnes: Relegated with Leicester and no other big team was in for him Pope: Relegated with Burnley Kelly *shudders*: Free agent and not even Chelsea would've paid him what we were giving him Targett: Fell out of favour at Villa Even with the foreign signings, we only had a shot at Isak and Tonali cause Isak had a pish season prior to that and AC Milan may or may not have been privy to some impending news! Essentially, what I'm trying to say is: "Hey Newcastle, have you considered buying very good players for very low prices" 😄
  6. From all the players we had solid links to in the last year: Huijsen - Went to Real, can't begrudge anyone that Cunha - Cost a fortune and Man Utd are paying him a fuck load Mbeumo - Cost a fortune and Man Utd are going to pay him a fuck load Guehi - Palace demanded far more than what he's worth and player happy to stay, now likely headed to Liverpool, again, can't begrudge that move Pedro - Chelsea are paying him more and for longer, terrible footballing move but he's financially squared away for generations now I'm sure there's other examples that I'm missing but the common theme is that we seem to be fishing in the same pond as our competitors except they have a much better fishing rod and tastier bait. We're nowhere near the top of the footballing food chain yet, we need to be getting the guys mentioned above before they get their PL move. We share a league with the Super League 6, snapping up the best, ready made, midtable talent for premium prices is a battle we're never going to win
  7. You know what, after seeing Chelsea gave him a 7 year deal, it's clear we never stood a chance if we were even in for him at all and thankfully so if they were the terms he was demanding. Can anyone honestly see this guy being an active contributer to Chelsea in 2032? The cunt will be lucky to still have a squad number by 2027! I'm furious with myself for allowing myself to believe Lee Ryder because he was telling me the news I wanted to hear. He's a renowned charlatan churning out absolute bilge for a decrepid husk of a newspaper, we all should've known better. This is a reminded to us all not to take any bait from shitebags like Ryder, Hope, Waugh and least of all the bald nonce.
  8. Gee whiz! How shit must Jhon Duran be if Chelsea didn't bother going for him!
  9. Only if we make an enquiry first.
  10. If Pedro wants to be tossed onto the scrapheap of decent/kinda good wingers that Chelsea horde instead of playing a key role in a team managed by one of the very best in the business of unlocking a players potential then fill your boots kid. Yeah, Chelsea will pay him more than us for his next deal, but probably not by a massive amount and who's to say that if becomes a hero here he won't get a bumper wage increase or a move to an even bigger club? All that aside, he'll never be loved by them, he's just another fart in the wind to them. If he played well for half a season Wor Flags would probably have made a big surfer for him! I know it sounds salty in a 'never liked her anyway' kind way but it's annoying that Chelsea just copy our homework and spend with impunity. Personally, I'd rather we bought guys like Pedro BEFORE they start going for ridiculous fees. I want us to be more smart and creative in our scouting.
  11. Therein lies one of the biggest problems the national team has. Shoehorning in the big names based on their club reputation as opposed to what works best for the system
  12. Yes, I know it's only the U-21s etc etc, but appointing Tuchel ahead of Carsley is a decision that'll haunt the FA. For the amount they'll be paying Tuchel, I'd be very surprised if he'll achieve more than what Carsley would've.
  13. Can we please stop citing that bald nonce like he's a credible source. We may as well post Frank Chippa or Burnsie tweets
  14. I remember back in the day that us, us, West Ham and Spurs would always be chasing the same kind of targets, now it's Chelsea copying our homework. I'm honestly sick to fucking death of them. But if Pedro wants to be stockpiled onto the heap of bodies they have over there and never build a meaningful connection with his fans then fuck him, just like Tosin. I understand Chelsea pay more and I wouldn't begrudge someone trying to better themselves financially but surely your move after this one is a lot more prosperous if you've contributed to an exciting Newcastle team rather than wasting away at Chelsea
  15. I suppose you pick up these habits after spending enough time in Burnley
  16. How can we be sure what Nick Pope is referring to? Perhaps they arranged a day out at the zoo together when Trafford gets back?
  17. I think I'll take my toaster with me for that transfer bath
  18. I would drown kittens to see seven headed beast of Isak, Gordon, Barnes, Elanga, Pedro, Murphy and Osula next season. Isak aside, there's not really much "pazazz" or "star power" but they would all work their bollocks off and hunt the oppoisiton down in packs like demonic wolves.
  19. This window for me is all about raising the floor of the squad. Let's say for the sake of simple maths (cause I'm a simple man) we have a budget of 200million. Option A: Buy 1-3 purples and spend the rest on cheap punts who'll either develop into serviceable squad players or be PSR flips. + The purples will be instant upgrades on positions of need + If one of the cheap punts turns into a decent player we've won a watch - We likely won't address all positions of need - If one or more of the purples flop, it'll be a disaster - Most of the punts won't be of any use in the short term and many won't ever play a minute for us Option B: Buy 5/6 good players at a similar quality to what we already have. + Most will be dependable, proven PL quality + They'll allow us to give our starters a breather so we don't run them into the groud a la Isak & Joelinton + Eddie is one of the best in the business for unlocking a players potential - If we're mainly buying from the PL, we'll be charged a premium - There likely won't be any 'marquee' signings as such - It's debatable as to whether the new signings are a clear improvement on what we already have Option B IMO is the way forward. Our starting 11 is very good, but once you start scratching beneath the surface of that you soon realise that the drop off is stark. We just about scraped into CL this year and that was without any European distractions, last time we were in Europe our squad got decimated. Be under no illusions, it'll serve us better this season to have 6 good players than 3 very good players.
  20. Celtic are my 2nd team, I watch most of their games, my opinion on him (which is shared by a lot of others) is that he's nowhere near physical enough to survive in the PL. He's had about 3/4 good months in his 18 month spell, but after SPFL teams figured that he's as good as useless if you stop him cutting inside, he was an empty jersey. There is clearly come talent in there somewhere, but he has the heart of a mouse and would be an unnecessary waste of money.
  21. Are there any indications of what this will mean for Pope & Dubravka? Vlach doesn't count, he should count himself lucky to even be here. *edit: Nevermind. Thanks r0cafella
  22. Good move for all parties. Kuhn had an unsustainably good start to last season and effectivley chucked it after December. There's a player in there somewhere as he's been on the books of Ajax, Bayern, Leipzig and now Celtic, going off what Celtic fans are saying, he has the heart of a mouse, easily bullied and is essentially a one trick pony. He'd never have worked out for us.
