I like his style of football and he's a good talent spotter, i'd just prefer someone else. Bit of a meh signing, exactly what this club doesn't need. I propose we buy some of our old stars back and a couple of new faces: Hoult Solano - Bramble - Woodgate - Bernard Dyer - Bowyer - Barton - Duff Kluivert - Bellamy Bench: Faye, Solano, Ferguson, Acuna and get Lee Hughes in from Oldham. Problem is, he will need to improve performances immediately, cos if the majority of fans arent happy with the signing (which it looks like) then he faces a hard hard task. Get someone in who everyone likes, and its a bit easier. We have a hard seasons-end, and he wont have much time to bring in new faces. Would still expect he can improve us though. On the contrary, I reckon this has been the plan all along, just a case of picking the right moment. Personally, assuming it does happen, I think Newcastle could be starting on their most successful spell since Keegan's days........... and Keegan only got close to winning things.
