Would've prefered Lil' Jon tbh

YEEEEEEEEEAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!

he could be the head scout and we could employ the eastside boyz as his minions

 can't wait to see the old-timers reactions to this post, they will be absolutely clueless :)

As opposed to the young spunkers not having a Scooby's who Lil Fuccillo is/was.ANSWER -he was a shit footballer as pointed out by Crumpy, for Luton-late 70's.

 fair play mate

So can someone fill me in on this guys qualifications and experience as at this point it appears another totally puzzling appointment!

There aren't qualifications for a scout, just a knack of seeing a youngster and deciding there is talent there.  He gets a mention at the bottom of

when he was a scout with Everton.

Probably got the job because he knows Wise/Vetere etc etc.  Moving from Leicester to be Head Scout of Newcastle seems to be a good upward move for him.

Are there pre-requisites in terms of footballing ability and experience to be a good scout, like there is for being a good manager....? ;)

Spot on.  Can anyone tell us (without looking them up).......

1) Who the scouts are at Chelsea, Man United, Liverpool and Arsenal

2) What they acheived in their playing careers?

I still can't fathom why the fuck this story appeared on "Dunstable Today"

There is no gap between the two places, driving from one to the other it is all residential/built up. The M1 basically splits them. Unless you were particularly paying attention you wouldn't know where you left one and entered the other.

Who was that guy we were vaguely linked with, before Xmas I think, who supposedly had an encyclopedic knowledge of footballers. British guy, working for Barcelona iirc

Do you mean Jeff Vetere who is now our Technical Co-ordinator, he is English and was working for Real Madrid.

Andrew Burgess said. "Mention the name of any footballer and he will tell you who he has played for, how many goals he has scored and even what size boots he wears."

Yes, that's him. Just found the original article. I remembered reading he had links with Luton Town and was wondering if that was the connection here. Doubtful though as he was just an apprentice at Luton.

Then I found this..

..which is basically a Hammer fan trying to blame Vetere for the Tevez/Mascerano saga I think. (Check out Dennis Wise in the picture, he's a dwarf! And who is it standing far right?)

He ended up as manager of Luton, a bit more than an apprentice.

more staff the better imo for the moment. For years we complained about not having an organised backroom setup, now we seem to be moving towards one

Of course, let's not forget the most important backroom member:

Terry Mac. :tickedoff:

Cutting the oranges, giving the players a laugh on the training ground and writing the substitutes name on the bit of paper and giving it to the fourth official. Probably the most important jobs at the club at present.

Dont know where the assumption he's  shit is from. He gets ripped on here,  but he must have a positive effect withthe players.

i don't know.. i've always slated Terry Mac, because of his mustache and the assumption that he does nothing, but i got my hands on a few old games lately and it seems he wasn't a bad player.. maybe he's not that worthless after all

NEWCASTLE United's new chief scout Lil Fuccillo has wasted no time getting his feet under the table.

The 51-year-old – who has succeeded Steve Walsh in the role at the club – has already been checking on two Championship prospects.

Bedford-born Fuccillo – formerly chief scout at Leicester City – was at Hillsborough last Saturday to see Sheffield Wednesday's 2-2 draw with Cystal Palace.

Fuccillo was understood to be watching Wednesday's 18-year-old centre-half Mark Beevers, and Palace's 17-year-old striker Sean Scannell.

Beevers – contracted to the Owls until 2012 – was this week called up into the England Under-19s squad, while Scannell signed a new two-and-a-half year contract early this year to ward off interest from a number of Premier League clubs, notably Arsenal.

Palace chairman Simon Jordan has slapped a £3m price tag on Scannell, who has represented the Republic of Ireland at Under-18 level.
