I must be watching a different game to you, Geremi has played well IMO, fantastic ball for Owens first goal. I must admit eveyones passing has been sloppy compared to of late. James Posted April 20, 2008 Share Posted April 20, 2008 Sunderland have been battling more than us, sometimes three of their players challenging for the ball. We've played the more intelligent game though, our players have the superior quality. Butt and Owen have been our best players. Jones is their dangerman, he's giving Faye and Taylor a few problems, and on occassions we haven't been able to get the ball of him. Perfect younger replacement for Viduka in my opinion. Cajun Posted April 20, 2008 Share Posted April 20, 2008 Should be 3, nothing wrong at all with the og (apart from the ref maybe doubting whether or not he should have given the corner so blew up as soon as it was taken). Enrique has been class as has Butt. Owen very good, was nervous with the pen and it nearly proved to be with good reason but then if you hit it hard like that there is always a chance. Come on! johnnypd Posted April 20, 2008 Share Posted April 20, 2008 best player - Owen, been pretty crisp and two goals, also won the pen and a couple of other fouls in dangerous areas. Butt ran the midfield and made some crucial tackles. Martins has really tormented McShane non-stop, expect to see him subbed. Beye was excellent first 20 mins then quietened down. Enrique has been excellent, though he couldve puilled the trigger earlier on that slalom run he made through 2 or 3 mackems. Viduka has looked off the pace quite badly and struggled to hold the ball up, but showed a nice piece of skill to backheel for Owen's pen. Barton full of blood and guts but not much quality so far. Geremi been very hit and miss, a couple of good deliveries (one assist) but also some nonsensical passes. back 5 have been fine, can't rememeber mackems doing anything of note really. Parsley Posted April 20, 2008 Share Posted April 20, 2008 There was this one moment early in the game where we under a bit of pressure, won the ball back and just passed it along the deck out of our area as smooth and assured as anything. Made me giddy inside Barton, Owen, Butt and the defense have been superb.
