Teasy
Cech ------------------Carvalho---------Terry-------------------- ---Bosingwa----------------------------------------A.Cole--- -------------Essien--------Ballack------Deco------------- --J.Cole--------------------------------------------Arshavin--- ---------------------------Drogba----------------------------- Even though I think Drogba will leave that team is seriously scary and with Big Phil in charge it will never be boring. You mean the same big phil who instructs his teams to sit back and wait for pens every single time they reach a knockout stage of any competition? Stick a chef hat on him and it's the muppet show on the sidelines. Wingbacks? Who needs wingbacks when you're a real live version of charge of the light brigade going forward. Guest Heneage
Bosingwa is vastly over-rated.

WarrenBartonCentrePartin
with regards to 5live saying he's agreed to join Chelsea, they did jump the gun and announce that we'd signed Woodgate IIRC, not even saying "about to sign". And with regards to that Chelsea team, I'd honestly call that over-attacking. So lets hope they go with it!
buzza
Aye, Anelka and owen would be a decent front pair, stick martins out on the left and jonas on the right and we'd have a quick goal threat...
James
Martins would make a terrible left winger.
Gallowgate Toon
Martins would make a terrible left winger. Already been proven from last year.

Will someone really pay that much for him? I certainly don't think any of the Big 4 would. Don't think that Barca are that desperate for him either. At that price the only place I could maybe see him going is Bayern.

oldtype
Top teams are recognizing that two brilliant games in a major tournament does not suddenly make a "very good, worth 10m-ish" target into a "throw 20m+ at them immediately!" target. Probably all waiting for his market value to settle back down to a reasonable level. He's a player that would have a role in most top teams, but not one they're willing to buy at any cost. Might as well force their hand by putting in a bid? Would be worth it just to see who he rejects us for
Bad Mongo
You're crazy, oldtype. If we do that, he'll end up at Spurs.
OzzieMandias
Apart from the fee, he's apparently seeking wages of £8 million a year. That's sure to be deterring a lot of potential suitors.
Dave
£150k/week?!
OzzieMandias
Or thereabouts. That's what I read somewhere, anyway. Basically he'll cost £10 million, plus £8 million a year wages.
stozo
Absolutely crazy. Any club would be mad to pay anything near that.
