Shame we didn't hold off for a couple of weeks, this latest arrest could have given us the opportunity to sack him without a pay off.

Why? None of the others have, including an alleged rape charge.

The only other times he has been convicted is for a driving offence, one of his court cases was dropped and so far no further action has been taken against him for the rape claims. If he is found guilty of assault he would therefor have the 2nd conviction that Barton never got thus therefor ruining his 2nd chance.

You said 'shame we didn't hold off a couple of weeks' well he hasn't been convicted of this either. So it makes no difference.

If he's found guilty which he could be within a few days at a magistrates court (depending on how serious the assault was) then yes it would only be a few weeks since we let him go and him being convicted.

Also isn't he on a suspended sentence?, surely if found guilty he will be locked up?

Former Newcastle United player Nile Ranger arrested

Ex-Premier League footballer Nile Ranger has been arrested on suspicion of assault in Newcastle.

The 21-year-old, who left Newcastle United by mutual consent a fortnight ago, was arrested after reports of a fight in the Gate complex car park.

The London-born former England Under-19 player is currently being questioned in custody.

A Northumbria Police spokesman said its officers were called out to an alleged assault on Wednesday evening.

A statement from the force said: "Police received a report of a fight in the car park area at The Gate in Newcastle.

"A 21-year-old has been arrested on suspicion of assault and he is currently in custody helping police with inquiries."

If his agent has any sense he would move him out to the MLS. He can live the gangster life in all his glory there.

Doubt he'd be allowed to enter the country.

Aussie League then.

I think Snoop Dog, and 50 Cent, had their share of problems getting Visas initially (to enter Aust). Anyway isn't Snoop something of a reformed Crip, and running a primary school gridiron league? His/Snoop's public image is a softer one now.Moral of the story is: Ranger had better start contributing to/or give back to the community a little, before he starts thinking of a career resurrection at any of the penal colony leagues. Aust Dep of Immigration isn't going to do any favours for a wannabe O.G. with no celebrity status, and a bad attitude.

Forgot why I came in here.

Really glad this clown isn't our problem any more, was depressingly obvious after only a short time that he wasn't going to change, don't know why we persevered with him for so long when he never added anything to the team either. Reckon, he'll spend some time inside eventually and end up bankrupt within 3 years, probably go down once that's happened and he robs some off-licence  and doesn't have the money for fancy lawyers to find some loophole to get him off.

He's a child that never grew up and unfortunately our money helped perpetuate that, think he'll have to grow up pretty fast pretty soon now though. That, or it'll go the other way and he'll end up dead in a ditch somewhere.

Arrested already? That was quick. Wonder if NUFC were clued in and that prompted the release.

If we have someone with future sight at the club, we waited until the wrong time to use their talents.
