Guest Phil K
He could easily do what Hodgson did. What ? Talk with a slight lisp ?

Tooj
Think it was Tooj who wants him here, step closer to the dream. I said he's a better manager than Pardew and I still stand by that.

You put him forward as a possible Pardew replacement, I remember it well. Either way you are wrong, he's fucking awful.
LRD
McClaren and most other managers won't be able to work with Ashley/Llambias anyway. That's the main advantage Pardew has in his job - others will find it hard to communicate with and get something out of those two.

LFEE
If you look at the FC Twente situation closely he's done another good job there after a successful first stint... People need to look past the brolly... Cup win & Euro final for Boro in a backdrop of not being wanted... Pretty impressive...
NUFC_Chris
I was watching the Eredivisie highlights a while back. The Twente fans had banners out reading STEVE GO NOW! Thought they'd have had a bit more patience with him tbf, seeing as he did win the title with them and they're not exactly in a bad position in the league. AyeDubbleYoo
I've got respect for him for going abroad and making something happen for himself. Something people like Harry Redknapp would never do. He doesn't help himself with stuff like the brolly/accent, but mainly when people take the piss they are just focussing on minor and irrelevant things. Guest Slippery Sam
Reckon he will have a fantastic autobiography one day; Jim Smith; Fergie; Boro; Engerlund; Twente. There has to be some really good stories from that lot.

I said he's a better manager than Pardew and I still stand by that. Agreed. I actually like him personally, he's got something a bit different about him and has done decent enough wherever he has been for any length of time. By all accounts he's a fantastic coach/tactician but struggles with man management/motivation when all that breaks down. He doesn't come over as an inspiring figure like or someone with swathes of charm. Unlike our own manager...
