cp40
Speaking of the next game, this result essentially means nothing if we don't beat Bolton. well it does, it means if we draw with bolton we are unbeaten.....
Fugazi
Loved how Rio & Giggs were bickering loads when it wasn't going their way. Anyone else noticed how few yellow cards we've been getting since Keegan got us hitting a bit of form? Fair Play Table here we come! Giggs telling Rio to f*ck off was great. greydos
I'm a bit late on commenting but here's my twopenneth worth: Gutiererz was amazing going backwards, and full of promise going forwards. Duff's sh*te!! Playing in a free role he never bothered to get into space much and be FREE! And the amount he lost the ball tamely falling over appealling for a free kick in the second half was anger management sessions right there! what we needed was someone to drop deep and feed martins or give an off the ball option for a pass but no, duff's more interested in performing like Hilary as opposed to the pre-2005 Damien. Colo's quality. Quality performs well. Taylor had a surprisingly good game. I just wish he'd bulk up a bit with his upper body strength so he could dominate in the air like Terry does. He lost a few headers to Rooney in the second half. Given's always been Given. Those writing him off were footballing virgins or G*****!
Kev
Any update on what Jamie did to get thrown out/arrested? He told me he done nout wrong, but i know either him or people he was with wouldve been mouthing off or jumping around being rather pissed He didnt get arrested btw. Im guessing the stewards were dicks! my dads mate who was with us didnt get in, they ripped his ticket up infront of his face and told him to get away. nobs. Alberto2005
Don't know about everyone else but before the game everyone would have said a draw would be a fantastic result and it sure was, but we didn't just draw with them did we? We could have gone and fluked a draw as such but the most satisfying aspect of the game I thought was the fact we took the game to them and deserved to get that point 100% and on another day we could have even beaten them, the intent was superb, well played lads

Taylor Swift
Imagine if we have Owen to support Martins, we should be able to keep the ball for longer and also have another goal scorer in the team. Interesting that we didn't use any subs today. Also, Michael who? are you bi-polar? No. That was slightly knee-jerk but also provoked by a mate (Man Utd fan) that I watched the match with. He was on about Owen being the best thing ever to happen to Newcastle and how 'fucking lucky' we are to have him in our team. Apart from that, I also disagree with the average joe's opinion that Michael Owen is the best and most important player in our team. That is why I said 'Michael who?'. However, I do think he's a quality player and I'm excited to see him play in this team. Hope that explains it.
Taylor Swift
Just saw the whole match again and now after having watching it as a sort-of observer, the game was much more even that I remembered it. As a fan, you know, everytime they launched the ball up, I had visions of Rooney smacking the ball into the net with Given looking on helplessly, but watching it in a different mood really showed how good the performance was. I'm proud of the lads. Quality start to the season
Ikon
It's been a great weekend. All three new players performed really well. A well deserved point, but most of all is how we performed, Lost my Visa card on saturday night because i had a little bit too much, but luckily enough i didn't loose any money when i checked my account yesterday. And i found a girl, cannot remember her name or what she looked like, but rumours say that she looked like a human being at least.. I posted earlier and asked if there's any place where you after a game can find stats of a player running distance after a game? I got no answer to that, maybe no one knows. Or did they show stats like running distance in english televison when the game was over?

There was one of the papers that did an interactive thing like that of the game, telling you running distances, speed, where the playw as focussed etc. It was either the telegraph or the Guardian but Ic an't findit now. afar
I rarely post at weekends, so a little late coming to the party here. I've been critical about the pre season, we didn't seem prepared. But bloody hell we were a damn site more prepared than Manure. Terrific performance from the lads. Jonas was my pick of the bunch, the lad just doesn't stop, Sentanta only showed the MUTV version of the coverage over here and they were very critical of his diving, their commentators thought he should have got a yellow card. He does have to watch that but other than that it was a brilliant debut. Colocinni made 1 or 2 small errors early on, but after that was a rock alongside the equally impressive Taylor. Zog is not a LB, Enrique must be absolute dog shite in training if Zoggy is getting picked in that position. If we had been playing against a team with a true RW we would have been in trouble. Given was near faultless in goal, I'm more of a Harper fan than Given but he fully justified his recall yesterday. Guthrie was tidy in the middle but Butt was abysmal, some of his distribution was decent but too many times did he give the ball away cheaply and almost gave away the game in the last few seconds. MUTV commentators were shouting penalty, lol it took them about three replays to admit that it was outside the area. On the evidence of this game we are in for a really good season, if we can add a couple quality signings before the end of the month, if we do, Europe shouldn't be beyond us. Guest sicko2ndbest
Getting Old Trafford out of the way and getting something out of it is fantastic. Only Chelsea away worries me now, as i think Arsenal and Liverpool are getatable, even though they would be overwhelming favourites
Exiled in Texas
Giggs and Rio.......I loved how the commentators described that as "two players challenging each other to raise the level of play" whereas you know that it would have been Turmoil at the Toon if they had been in Black and White. Oh, and clearly the fact that we didn't use one Substitute was due to our lack of depth in the team.....Keegan dare not risk dipping down to his bench to bring on inexperienced players. While Fergie was able to blood some youngesters and give them playing experience. Two faced twats!!!
Ikon
Steven Taylor has withdrawn from the England under-21 squad for Tuesday's friendly. I thought he did really well against Man Utd. I hope he will be avilable for the game against Bolton. Probably nothing serious...
Kev
started the game by singing the inevitable 'Cheer Up KK' song Got that sung at me by around 10 different people sat in my toon top at the service station on my way home yesterday. s**** football team that drew 1-1 on their own turf hey. Nice to see you got home safely with some manu fans not being happy, did a bus follow you home? as they had fans coming from all over the place... cheers for buying the ticket btw might see you at another away game one time.
