stozo Posted August 31, 2008 Share Posted August 31, 2008 Really unsure about this guy. He's 26 and has only had one spell in Europe at Monaco in which he was unsuccessful. Now by the sounds is surplus at Valencia despite them signing him only this season. You don't play for Monaco and Valencia without having something going for you though surely. Well worth a punt on a loan. That's kind of the piont though, he hasn't played for either really. Only got 5 appearances (don't know how many of them were starts either) at Monaco and now is considered surplus at Valencia without even playing a game. Also, while I don't know the ins and outs of the deal, it's only ever worth it if we have a clause to buy him because if he excels Valencia will just take him back or sell him to another club. I seem to remember a few gettting their knickers in a twist about Guthrie and although he hasn't been amazing he has certainly performed better than some were predicting.
