JH
Ashley does want out IMO Ashley loves the toon. Seriously though, people speak as though he's quite happy to stay here and ruin us, but if we're taking what Golfmag said a few months ago as gospel (like we did about the Pardew stuff, the cost-cutting/player selling etc.) then we have to go along with the idea that he's doing all this because he intends to sell. BlueStar
I know a new owner would mean another period of upheaval, but I don't think we can count continued ownership under Ashley, a man who's gone through 6 managers during his short ownership and has put the club on and off the market like the hokey-cokey, as 'stability'
Guest Brazilianbob
Why on earth is this discussion being perpetuated when there is absolutely no truth whatsoever in the rumour. No doubt when everyone realises it is just a baseless rumour Ashley will get the blame!

Wallace
There's been too many false dawns so far so I cannot get enthusiastic about a takeover until it becomes obvious it is genuine.

Super Duper Branko Strupar
Ashley does want out IMO Ashley loves the toon. Of course he intends to sell. Staying on and investing time and money into putting a long term business model in place to generate profits and stability in the long term rather than balancing the books and reducing outgoings and making it look a more attractive proposition by having players with a resale value takes balls and substance. We all know Ashley doesn't have this. He will take the money when he thinks he's done enough to command a high price short term.

Dave
Managing director Derek Llambias has denied any approach about a potential takeover has been made - or would even be considered. "No-one has visited the club," Llambias told the Daily Express. "There has been no approach from any Indian consortium or businessman and Newcastle United are not looking for one." "No-one has visited the club," Llambias told the Daily Express. "There has been no approach from any Indian consortium or businessman and Newcastle United are not looking for one." Considering the reports say that he isn't prepared to make a bid until we are mathematically safe, I would have though that it would have been obvious that they haven't received any approach yet. Dokko
If someone offered Ashley £250m for the club, walk away with nothing owed to him he'd snap their hands off without even thinking about it. If someone offered £200m for the same deal he'd seriously consider it. The club is for sale, just at the right price and with a serious bidder, false bids, paper bids only do one thing, get us excited and everyone at the club unsettled. Colocho
Let's hope the 'every player has his price' excuse that was used when they sold Carroll, will be used if a £250m offer for the club comes in. Can't see Anil Ambani being interested in us anyway, his wealth has declined by about $30 billion in the last three years.
