"Cockney Mafia Out"

Stu

Recommended Posts

Broken record time.

Ashley isn't a cockney.

he's from barnham on the edge of london and lived and worked in london for most his adult life. like saying someone from hexham who has lived and worked in newcastle extensively is a geordie - not really a stretch is it?

anyway i'd imagine the point is more to do with us being ran from London rather than from up here.

If you're going to try and correct me at least spell it right. It's Burnham. I lived not too far away from there, I know people from there and they're certainly not cockney. He might do a lot of his work there but it still annoys me when people attack him for being a cockney when he isn't. The term cockney seems to have major negative connotations for some people.

you should also appreciate the usage of the word up here - ie play away at leeds and they'll be called 'cockney bastards'. just seems meaningless pedantry to have a go at someone for that. ie you wouldnt think wise and ashley are involved in italian organised crime because of the word mafia.

Still don't see the point, regardless of the background, to walk round during the game. How about walking round with a banner that had said "WE are Newcastle United". Think that makes the same point but with a positive slant and give no ammo to the 'cockney' media.

so if we walk round with a banner saying "newcastle are great", we'd win every week?

Errrr? I think you need to walk round with a banner saying "missing the point". Or just stay in. Forever.

think your missing the point. It was a banner, it got a bit of tv time, it should no way of affected the teams performance regardless if they walked round round before during or after the game.

fair enuff but i say get on with the game, i think it was really immature, just makes a negative environment that does affect the game one way or another.

cockneys are f***ing wankers, spot on banner.

ashley n wise fuckin up the club, need to realise they arent wanted.

well done the geordie massive!

Just been reading through this quickly. You're sad man. The kind of embarrassing idiot that my mates in London just laugh and cringe at - to them your attitude comes over like some fuckwit from a different century. It's embarrassing trying to deal with it.

I talk to my family to move back up north and my wife and two (cockney, nufc supporting) lads see and hear shite like that and just ask why we'd want to go there if we'd have to live by people who spout your kind of mindless bollocks.

I begin to wonder myself, even though I know that fortunately, gobshites like yourself are well in the minority.

The banner carriers were sad attenton seeking tw@ts who could have done it at half time if they'd had any sense, but to get their 5 minutes of fame they chose to do it when the team needed our support.

We have NO cockneys on our board - and most cockneys probably sympathise with our situation.

I say lynch the b@stards who carried that banner if we go down by 3 points.

I cannot believe ANYONE can try and put the blame onto the fans for getting beat today. Forget the whole , Keegan , Ashely shite , at the end of the day , the 11 players we put out on that field today should have been good enough to beat Hull City.

Stop making excuses for christ sake , we werent good enough and Hull deserved to win .

Deal with it.

Mind I would have like to have smacked that stupid fucking smirk of Lamb asses face during this procession. What the fuck does the failed casino manager know anyway. Wanker.

The start of the second half was a chance for everyone to get behind the team again, not a chance for you idiots to get yourselves on tv.

That directly contributed to the slow start we made to the second half.

Cheers lads

Bullshit motherfucker.

Have to say I agree with you. That protest had precisely the sum of fuck all effect on what was a totally shoddy performance from the players today. In fact, I applauded them.

I think the following two quotes basically sum up my opinion on today's protests:

(1) "All that is necessary for the triumph of evil is that good men do nothing." - Edmund Burke

(2) "I may not agree with what you say, but to your death I will defend your right to say it." - Voltaire

There's no reason philosophy can't live alongside football.

As Descartes once said "that's a fucking right sending off ref!"

Support for the team was fine today, though I don't doubt the instability of the club had some effect, I'm annoyed that armchair people think they know what happened.

The BBC were reporting a half empty ground. Well OK I was late, not through protest, just that a nephew had a late night and couldn't get his shit together.

The ground was full though yes? Admittedly buoyed up by Hull supporters, who were understandably joyous.

Nah, the ground wasn't full - a fair few empty seats around the place to be honest.

The thing that struck me today was the place was like a morgue most of the time (unsurprisingly).

Doesnt matter what the hells on the banner if its taking away attention from the game when we could be spurring the team on.

I dont think this was the reason we bombed in the second half. It certainly didnt help, any extra distraction on what was going to be a very hard day for the players wasnt needed.

Personally I thought it was embarrassing and detrimental, the timing would have been bad whenever it happened but at a time when we really needed the crowd fully behind us we broke down and abandonded them.

That said everyone is entitled to voice their opinion, I dont blame people for that.

Far fuller than the Bolton game, the boycott predictably didn't happen.

They've known for a week and a half that things were going to kick off in and around the ground. Hardly like the banner was a total surprise.

Surely they have been talking about this all week saying "forget whats going on around - focus on the game lads". Hey look at that I am a premiership coach.

One of the 'sad attention seekers ' carrying the banner was keith barrett ,someone you lot would probably deride as an 'uberfan' - oh i forgot ,he hasn't missed a game home or away for nigh on 30 years and for a lot of this time he lived in Bristol.

You think he would be used to this shit by now then.

Then let him know that about 1 in 10 applauded him, but 5,000 still make more noise than 45,000 non applauders.

Most wonder how any Newcastle fan could have got the timing so wrong.

This place is full of complete snobs!

So fuck there was a banner. The future of the club is more important than one game and if someone feels they want to demonstrate they have the right to do so.

That's right, slag off your own with your snobbish attitudes whilst sticking up for people who couldn't even make the effort to turn up or officially address us. Our chairman sat there sniggering!

How many of you whingeing little girls were there? You chose not to make a fuss...fair enough, that's your prerogative but how about you give people who make a statement a break? Or is coming here, on this forum, and being self fucking righteous mean yous have more of a say?

Fuck me...there's nothing worse than fans turning on others who simple feel they need to be heard.

Yet another master of irony.

Not like you to be a condescending twat, Indi.

Oh no, wait...

Actually, it is.

That's all well and good if you're protesting in a productive manner and not just doing it to get on tv or for the fun of it. Half the knobs doing it couldn't remember Keegan from the first time around so why are they so "angry"?

A proper protest is good, what they did just made us look like idiotic fans. A great advert to any potential investors is a bunch of 12 year olds shouting at the board because it's a laugh.

...well I'm not going there actually.

In all seriousness though, there's a whole load of people questioning other people's loyalty to the club simply for daring to have a different opinion to the masses. If that's not condescending, I don't know what is.

Is it really condescending to point out that to slag people off for slagging off their own is hugely ironic? How can it be condescending to state a fact? People are being totally one eyed about this whole thing and are flat out refusing to acknowledge that the other side has any points at all. If that carries on, where do you see it leading?
