Best young player we've had in 15 years?! Are you actually Charles N'Zogbia?

Name a better NUFC youth product since 1994.

Shola.

Edit - as the previous people said, he's hardly a youth product.

This argument

If all other products of the academy / development are utter s****, the even if N'Zogbia is one of the better ones, this benchmark is so low that it therefore DOES NOT mean he would save us from relegation.

In fact i'm finding it impossible to fathom the logic of an argument that involves N'Zogbia and fighting for relegation. Thats probably because such arguments are not based on logic but agendas tbh.

Whether he goes on to be a better player at Wigan is irrelevant, he wasnt going to go an be a better player here so cashing in was the best option.

Agree with all that.

He wasn't going to be a better player here because we have other players ahead of him in his position, Duff previously and now Jonas as well. This is the situation which has led to him being discontent and being sold. Personally I think Bruce seems to be a good judge of a player and Charlie will show some of his old form at Wigan.

I have not got a problem with making a profit on transfers

I have not got a problem with have a positive net spend

I have not got a problem with the players we have brought in

I have not got a problem with not paying over the odds once a bid has been rejected

What i have got a problem with is that we as a club have been made to look desperate, reckless, incompetent and small time. I know a lot of the media will direct it at the 3 in charge, but it is still the name of NUFC that gets associated.

There are only three players at this club that would require fees over 8 million pounds: Martins, Gutierrez, and Bassong.

Bassong? Only if they haven't seen him play. Nopt many clubs would pay £8m+ for half a good defender.

N'zogbia wanted to go, for whatever reason, so there is no reason to keep him. Can't say i blame him for wanting off - he's being played out of position if at all, behind at least one player (Duff) who is no better than him. His choice of club was an odd one, but having said that, once he realised that his agent might have been exagerrating the Arsenal/Villa/etc interest, he decided to join a club currently 7th in the league, leabing one with an inferior manager, and a genuine chance of relegation.

What's he left behind? A team he rarely played in the right position at, managed by a lair, with useless cretins on the Board. I'd have been much happier if we'd signed a striker as well (although not if Wise had anything to do with it, obviously), but if we get a competent right back and soem cash, at least that's something.

Of course, we were desperately disappointed not to come away with more new signings, but myself and Mike Ashley worked hard throughout the day to try to make it happen.

32 other days wasted then.

Kinnear said: "I have always rated Smithy very highly and he will bring in the battling qualities we need at the moment.

"He works his socks off in training and in games as well.

Mint!

Hes like a f***ing Klingon locked in a wardrobe.

Why sell Milner for 12 million and then in the new year try and spunk 6-8 on Richardson

Because we have a s*** talentless manager in charge thats been out of the game too long.

I wasn't really asking the question, I already new the answer.

Transfer window review from F365:

NEWCASTLE UNITED

Major signings: Peter Lovenkrands (free from Schalke), Kevin Nolan (£4m from Bolton), Ryan Taylor (swap deal from Wigan).

Major sales: Shay Given (undiscl. to Manchester City), Charles N'Zogbia (swap deal to Wigan).

Rather than sending silly e-mails to Sky Sports News, perhaps Mike Ashley should have been wondering how he could justify a club deep in relegation trouble making a profit in the transfer window. They clearly tried to buy - Darren Bent and Michael Johnson among their targets - but you wonder why they were trying so hard on February 2 rather than January 2. They still have a massive striker shortage and a manager that makes a relegation battle inevitable.

The 8 Million bid was for Xabi Alonso . My mate was talking to Lambias on Saturday night in Casino.  No BS.

Casino staff (past or present) aren't allowed into other casinos or casinos from their own companies for recreational purposes. Some companies allow this allow but London Clubs do not - the company that the 50 casino comes under.

"But in welcoming back Oba, Viduka and Smithy we have three fresh faces to pick from.

I am glad Joe didn't try to say "Obafemi" otherwise we'd have another disgruntled, unsettled player on our hands.

not sure if this was mentioned before, but we tried to gert faubert. (good player on the right of midfield)

"I got a phone call from a Real Madrid recruiter. I wasn't very polite to him. I thought I was being made fun of, that it was a joke()," he explained, "I had just found out that contacts with Lyon and Newcastle had fallen through. I wasn't feeling good."

There was an extended version of the interview in the Shields Gazzette and he managed to come up with a quite unexpected comment!

With Kinnear having signed just three players – Kevin Nolan, Ryan Taylor and Peter Lovenkrands – in the transfer window, which closed yesterday, the trio's return is timely for the 62-year-old.

"It gives us a bit more firepower for West Brom," said Kinnear. "I know it's an old cliche, but it'll be like having three new players back."

I guess in terms of quality yes.

But we have 8 first team strikers (with only one not in full training)

Martins, Ameobi, Smith, Xisco, Viduka, Lovenkrands, Carrol, Owen and the Ranger!

Central Midfield and Defence is more of a worry tbh.
