Jose Enrique out for at least three weeks with hamstring injury

Recommended Posts

Its always going to be up for debate but he gets my vote. Head and shoulders above anyone he plays against, just needs to cut out the silly mistakes. That will come with age though, he will play his best football in that position when he is in his late 20s.

Pretty difficult comparison considering they play in different positions?

Yeah but Enrique definately has some real quality, anyone can see that. Enrique could easily be playing for a team  in European competitions whereas it think Johnson would be a good palyer in a lower half of the table side.

Adam Johnsen isn't a left back anyway so i guess the point stays about how we shouldn't compare them, Enrique is real  class, always liked the lad and seems to have all it takes to be a world-class left back, cant't believe he's only 22 too.

Adam Johnson is doing well in this league, but he was fairly poor in the Premiership when given the chance.

I thought people were on about the best player in this league though? He wasn't great by any means for Middlesbrough in the Premiership but most of his appearances were from the subs bench.

Enrique is strong and athletic, and in the Championship that's allowing him to dominate most opponents in attack and defence. His positioning and decision-making is still dodgy, but he's able to recover defensively at this level and we don't pay the penalty.
