GeordieDazzler
Wonder if Fraser Forsters dad was the judge for the case?

Dave
Incredibly lucky if the fine is all he's got. Not exactly a deterrent for him though is it?

ujpest doza
Perhaps the other guy isn't as innocent as many people thought and they've plea bargined? RTG is in meltdown! He pleaded not guilty to ABH and Wounding but has accepted common assault so i make you right.
Belfast Boy
Incredibly lucky if the fine is all he's got. Not exactly a deterrent for him though is it? I am sure his legal team have made it quite clear to him that any more appearances in court will likely lead to a much heavier sentence. Previous offences can't be brought up when deciding on guilt, but they are looked at by the judge before deciding on sentencing.
Big Geordie
Anyone got a link to to the mackems on RTG? They'll be shitting themselves now - two local lads up front for us on Sunday. Might make a bit of a difference.

Hanshithispantz
Fair punishment realy, would have been harsh if he got jail.

GeordieDazzler
This was the glassing incident, right? £1000 fine though, that's ridiculous considering how much he makes For common assault it's pretty normal, if a bit on the heavy side. He'll also incurr court costs that are probably higher than his fine. They can't judge the fine based on his income, many people think that footballers get lighter sentences because they aren't too familiar with the sentences handed out to us normal folk. Dave
His punishment is probably the equilavent of fining the average person about £20.
Belfast Boy
http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-tyne-11620004 According to this it is £1000 fine, £2500 compensation and £1500 costs.

Hanshithispantz
Just had a look on RTG and there pathetic like "Cant believe it like" "Judge been paid off" "Discusted" "Piss take!" It's very rare anyone would see jail for assault whilst on a night out unless it is completely overboard (Barton was unlucky he was caught on camera), a fine and a criminal record is usualy the worst they would also get, it just so happens that neither realy affect Carroll in any way. midds
That's a result for Carroll. Five grand out of his next month's pay and that's it, done. Case closed. Can the bloke he glassed bring a private prosecution?

Guest Geordiesned
The Chronicle have rushed the story onto their website and got the names wrong! The bloke they claim was assaulted is actually the prosecutor!
