The quality of CCTV footage from bars and clubs is next to useless. I'd be amazed if any decent footage has been captured. Most of these type of places have cheap systems in that are hardly worth the bother.

Make you mind up man first it was "I can't imagine CCTV footage within a darkened night club" now it is they have cheap CCTV.

So did it look like it was an accident, and the glass slipped out of his grasp? Rather he actually hit him with it?

nar basically what happened is some guy nd him were argueing, the guy threw his drink, nt the glass at ac then ac threw his drink, followed by the glass being thrown in the guys face, glass went everywhere, ac ran off, bt must hv been caught by the bouncers then arrested, the guy was bleeding everywhere, unsuprisingly. duno whether to tell the police or nt, what do u think?

You shouldn't have to ask others what you should do.  What would you want somebody to do if you were the person who had been glassed?  Just tell the Police what you witnessed and it’s up to others to decide where the guilt lies, it’s not your fault somebody was glassed.  It could be your fault that Carroll gets off with something he has done or is found guilty of something he hasn’t.  Just tell it as you see it and forget about it.

Doing nothing is wrong.

Aye, fuck the wanker. He will be a cunt as well, an will milk it for all its worth and get money he doesn't deserve. If two idiots start fighting in a pub, I would never bother getting involved with the police or whoever.

I fail to understand why players are allowed anywhere near Newcastle City Centre at any time to go on the piss.

It's the Club who are negligent for its complete lack of professionalism.

The club will have very clear rules on what it's employees and players are allowed to do and when they can do it, as will every professional club. Any breaches will be subjected to a disciplinary procedure.

Apart from monitoring players 24 hours a day and locking them up, theres not much a club can do apart from implement the above procedures. Rich young men and city centre night life will find each other and things will happen.

What really surprises me is how Sunderland FC allow their players to spend so much time in Newcastle night spots, surely it's only a matter of time before one of them is on the end of a drunken (or possibly non drunken) assault.

If that account is true then the other guy started the incident and it could be argued that Carrol responded by chucking his drink and the wet glass has slipped out of his hand. Would still be reckless but a decent defence solicitor would strongly mitigate on Carrols behalf that it was an accident following a drunken dispute, that the other guy started.

Agree. The other guy threw his drink and glass first.
