Guest
Can't believe Mike Ashley is planning to make an announcement to coincide with the 108-year anniversary of Queen Victoria's death. I hope the NUSC release a bitchy statement to Sky Sports News.

NE5 gets vilified for always bringing Old Board/New Board arguments into completely unrelated threads. Plenty of people on here like him yet avoid criticism. EDIT :Not trying to specifically point the finger at you O-N but I just didnt think that kind of comment was required or relevant

oldtype
Of course, we do have to consider the most realistic scenario: Kinnear is making shit up again.
Parsley
Btw we're now down to two in, one out. By Blackburn isn't it?
Consortium of one
I can't shake the feeling that Joe Kinnear is going to be out in the cold and twisting in the wind for the club when all is said and done. Wise and Lliambas must be having a contest, each trying to out do the other in regards to sending Kinnear out with updated "news" and seeing if he will repeat it to the press. Wise: I sent Joe out to tell the press we've offered 5M for Mbia. Lliambas: Good one Dennis (giggles). We know he's not coming here but Joe sure does (more giggles). I've sent Joe out to tell the press that Mike will address all the issues after the window closes. (laughter) Wise: Ok, how's this: I tell Joe we've tabled a 25M deal for Kaka (hysterical laughter). Mike Ashley pokes his head into Derek's office. Wise and Lliambas suddenly get serious looks on their faces. Ashley: What the hell is Joe talking about? He's saying I'm going to address all the issues once the window closes? Lliambas: Beats me Mike, I've no idea where he got that one from. Dennis? Wise: (looks nervous) No idea boss, I'll look into it once I finish with these...umm...scouting reports!
Wullie
You're right thomas, I am retarded for having given more than £2000 to this charlatan during a recession. Must be great not to have to bother and be able to pass judgement on those who do though.
thomas
Shame, I've only spent around £1000, soopafan.

Not a dig at you personally Wullie, but why don't you see it as paying 2 grand to support the club, rather than to fill Ashley's coffers? At the end of the day isn't that the whole point? I wish I lived in the UK to follow the team around, but life isn't that simple.

Syrette
Why do some people assume that any money they spend on the club goes straight into Ashley's pocket? Is this based primarily on the fact that we don't seem to (net) spend much? Or, to be blunt, are you just making stuff up to suit your agenda? Is it unreasonable to assume that some of the money spent on merchandise and tickets goes towards paying off that loan?

I wish I lived in the UK to follow the team around, but life isn't that simple. The money should be supporting the club but it isn't. It's paying for one tiny fraction of Mike's casino chips on any given night. I don't give a shit about people supporting the club from far and wide, good on them. I do however have a problem with them calling me a retard because I haven't the first interest in hearing more of Mike Ashley's lies. Very easy to say when you don't sit through humiliation every week at St James' and don't pay good money to have the piss taken out of you.
