can someone on this board name me one decent provider that Martins has played with in his time here? The fact he came away with 17 goals in 06-07 was nowt short of heroic

In terms of flat-out 4-4-2, his best partner has undoubtedly been Kieron Dyer. That was an alright partnership; they had a decent understanding. But i'm only really qualifying your point - which i agree with, btw.

In terms of managers, Kevin Keegan got the best out of him. Shocker.

I think Bent will score you more goals.  Whether this would compensate for his inferior contribution to build-up play is probably the main issue for debate here, but on balance I think it would.

So I'd prefer to have Bent rather than Oba.

Bent won't score shit because we don't create chances.

Bent definitely relies on service a lot more than Martins.

2007– Tottenham Hotspur      49              (15)

National team England U21

2003–2005                             14             (8)

OBA

2002–2006  Internazionale           87 (33)

2006–     Newcastle United            76 (26)

Theres not much in it, Martins is more exciting but Bent is a bit more useful as well as scoring goals. Would prefer them both but at a push Bent for his link up play, thats the one bit Martins is shit for.
