Guest firetotheworks
What are the best and worst football decisions ever? Off the top of my head: Worst Bernard leaving Newcastle Choosing Owen over Torres Keegan saying Batty would score that penalty in WC98 Alan Smith leaving Man United, unless you're Man United. Best Bellamy over Jeffers Ginola over Solako

Guest firetotheworks
did they choose owen over torres or was it just he didn't want to come here ? I read Shepherd quoted somewhere (cant be arsed to find the link) saying that if we hadn't bagged Owen then we were going to bid around £25 million for Torres. Whether he would have come or not is another matter.

madras
Worst - Selling Sir Les 30 yr old carrying injuries and you can get back what you paid............only a bad decision when shearer got injured.
Guest firetotheworks
Shevchenko to Chelsea Veron to Man United and Chelsea Robinho going to Man City could very well be a terrible decision. Argentina taking off Riquelme vs Germany in WC06 is probably the worst tactical decision I've ever witnessed.

TRon
Worst - Selling Sir Les 30 yr old carrying injuries and you can get back what you paid............only a bad decision when shearer got injured. That was one of Shepherd's better decisions if looked at objectively.
maze
Worst was done by Shearer... choosing Newcastle over Man Utd. Would have made my supporter life much easier!
Pilko
Worst: Keeping Roeder on as manager. Giving McClen contracts. Giving Shola contracts. Selling Chopra for a paltry £500,000. Getting Luque over Anelka. Alan Smith. Selling Aaron Hughes. Best: Bobby Robson.
Interpolic
Best: Keegan 4-3-3 at Birmingham Asprilla deciding to put his shirt on the corner flag that time, class Shepherd getting Bobby Robson in, better late than never Worst: Clive Tyldsley's mam and dad neglecting to have a rubber knocking about that faithful night, cheers you dafties (Soz for being such a broken record!) Guest firetotheworks
Luis Saha. Man United and Everton thinking Beardsley wasn't good enough. Greame Taylor bringing on someone (help needed with who it was) instead of Shearer in a WC cup qualifier IIRC.
Greg
Worst: Keeping Roeder on as manager. Giving McClen contracts. Giving Shola contracts. Selling Chopra for a paltry £500,000. Getting Luque over Anelka. Alan Smith. Selling Aaron Hughes. Best: Bobby Robson. We didn't sell Chopra, his contract was up and we offered him a 1 year extension he turned it down and signed for Cardiff for a compensation fee decided by tribunal. Getting Luque over Anelka. Alan Smith. Selling Aaron Hughes. Best: Bobby Robson. Wasn't Chopra out of contract so we were only entitled to "compensation". He is a £500,000 player anyway even if the unwashed were stupid enough to pay 10 times that for him.
