                            Krul,

Edgar,        Taylor,   Tozer,      Kadar,

Godsmark, Guthrie, Doninger, Lua Lua,

                  Ranger, Carroll

Donniger has gone - more likely Inman or Vuckic

Vuckic is too young(16).......well for any sort of starting place anyway....looking very impressive in the  youth team though

I'd like to see Vukic given a shot I think it possibly could be a good for him in the long run.

I've made the following list based on nothing more than gut instinct (and some notations about whether that's good or bad) :

Definitely going (and nothing we can do about it):

Owen (good riddance too)

Martins (meh - skilful but just not good enough. Will think he deserves better)

Barton (good riddance too)

Jonas (thanks for at least entertaining us Jonas)

Beye (will be sadly missed)

Coloccini (good riddance too)

Bassong (has caught too many eyes this season)

Nacho Gonzalez (thanks for the memories... Oh wait)

Probably going

Jose Enrique (he’s not the greatest but easily good enough to escape from here)

Cacapa (unless he’s given a new contract – not likely though)

Geremi (unless we can’t shift him)

Tim Krul (number two in the Championship? Not a chance, he’s surely gone)

Mark Viduka (my hopeful smoky – he may stick around on reduced contract if Shearer stays)

Probably staying

Kevin Nolan

Danny Guthrie (I really hope he stays, but mid-lower table clubs could try for him)

Damien Duff (fat salary and all)

Alan Smith (fat salary and all)

Nicky Butt (fat salary and all)

Peter Lovenkrands (grateful to be at a big club)

Definitely staying

Steven Harper

Ryan Taylor (Championship might still be above his level though)

Xisco (hasn’t minded not featuring, so why would he leave now he’s likely to get a chance?)

Shola Ameobi (not even relegation to the Conference would see this limpet lose grip)

David Edgar

Steven Taylor

Tamas Kadar (will get real chances now)

Ben Tozer (will get real chances now)

Fraser Forster (establishing himself as number two)

Andrew Carroll (possible “main man”)

Nile Ranger (will get real chances now)

Kazenga Lua-Lua (will get real chances now)

So based on that (and including the “probably staying” players), I’d suggest something like:

                            Harper

Raylor      Saylor        Edgar        Kadar

Guthrie    Nolan        Butt          Duff

                Carroll    Lovenkrands

Forster

Tozer

Smith

Lua-Lua

Ranger

Xisco

Which would cost us a fortune each week in wages and still not guarantee promotion

Its pointless even typing out a starting line up. There will be loads of new players no doubt, and there needs to be. We can't be arrogant about who we go and sign and need to get players who  will get us out of the division. If someone like fat Jon Parkin will do a job for us then we need to sign him without being arrogant. Not saying we should sign him, but just an example.

A lot of people are naming the likes of Edgar. From what I've seen, he looks like he might do OK in a mid-Championship side, but isn't the whole idea that we try and bounce straight back up? Isn't that our ambition? I'd put Edgar on a par with someone like Peter Ramage, an emergency squad player drafted in because of serious injuries, who tried his best but was simply never capable at Premiership level. If players like Edgar are in our first XI next season then I don't see us coming straight back up.

                       Harper

Beye       Bassong   Steven Taylor   Enrique

Ryan Taylor   Guthrie    Nolan    Duff

              Ameobi     Carroll

Krul, Butt, Ranger, Vuckic, Lua Lua, Edgar, other youngster

Wishful thinking but we would have the best defence in the league.

ameobi carroll partnership would be shocking id like to see some pace put into our team next season so from that lineup above id live to see r.taylor, nolan and ameobi replaced with new upcoming players. but i know that will be hard

Please dear god no. Played for Margate youth with him when I was younger and he's been back a few times giving it the Dyer treatment, burning notes etc...

Doesn't really matter how good they are as we're gonna concede lots of stupid easy goals just like last few years with that midfield literally sitting in front them...

Am I the only one that thinks Ameobi would do well in the Championship?

Can't be on that much money either.

He didn't when on loan at Stoke, so no, I doubt he would do well.

Hmmm...did he actually get a game at Stoke in the last season at Championship...not to mention scoring goals!

He's been here way too long and doesn't really require a miracle worker as his agent to get 30K a week in his new contract if our management was stupid enough to offer him one in the first place!

He'll be exactly the same in any division. Useless lazy twat. Will get pushed about by all the physical centre backs next year.
