If this hasn't been resolved by mid-August at the very latest, the worst case scenario has to be for Ashley to appoint Shearer full-time, telling him that there'll be no in's or out's until the takeover is complete. If we're not sold mid-August, then it doesn't make an awful lot of difference whether we're sold mid-August or mid-November...the pre-season and transfer window would have already been f*cked.

 

At least if the club's not sold in time and Shearer's appointed, he knows what he's working with.

 

There's no way on earth Shearer will touch this job if Ashley has asset stripped the playing staff. He'd be setting himself up as the fall guy. He wants the job, but he also wants a fighting chance at promotion. Not to see the final death throes of this football club.

2) Ashley may own the club but that doesn't mean that he's completely in charge of events. There's this frequent idea that the delay in selling must all be part of his masterplan, but it's more likely to be just a normal by-product of the messy world of big business.

 

3) Keegan might not win his case. I suspect that Ashley must be confident of the outcome, because otherwise they'd have reached an out of court settlement long before.

 

4) The club's financial situation isn't necessarily that problematic. It's not as though Ashley owes large sums to other parties, as with Leeds.

Then he fell out with a man who had earned the affection of the city. For all his money Ashley became disliked immensely. From Hero to Zero, it might be hard for a multi billionaire to accept that money can’t buy the things that matter most.

What kind of man likes being spurned by 50,000 people? Ashley may have bought NUFC to make money but it soon became clear Mike wanted to be liked. Then he fell out with a man had earned the affection of the city. For all his money Ashley became disliked immensely. From Hero to Zero, it might be hard for a multi billionaire to accept that money can’t buy the things that matter most.

 

The idea Ashley is a robotic idiot who only thinks about money is naive. Billionaires have feelings too, odd ones that drive them to pursue profit long after the law of diminishing returns have kicked in.

 

Have you been sniffing glue?! Ashley isn't going to be motivated by revenge when it comes to something he owns, which is currently a drain on HIS money. Fucking hell man I know Ashley's being an idiot but have a word, if you think for one second that revenge is a factor then you're utterly deluded...

People need to appreciate that a lot of very rich and successful people are as thick as shyte.

 

Plenty of people have made a lot of money out of doing something they understand and they understand it well and do it well. The problem with some of them is that they start to believe that they have a genuine  talent  that can be used to good advantage in other businesses and, unless they are exceptional,  they are wrong. Ashley is a classic case of this.

Ashley has let his own enormous ego get the better of him. He made a lot of money in the past either by luck or judgement, he now thinks he knows best when running a football club, something he hasnt got the slightest clue about.

 

Now a shrewd person with an ounce of common sense, would in Ashleys position, be fully aware of their own lack of expertise and employ the appropriate experts. They would give a broad outline, a mission statement of what they want to achieve and how they want to achieve it and then let the experts get on and do it.

 

Ashley has done just the opposite and employed friends and associates (in both football and non football areas of the club) who havn't a fucking clue what they are doing and combined it with his own interfering incompetence. What makes it worse is that he hasnt learnt from his mistakes.

 

He's well on the way to completely destroying the club we love and if this isnt resolved soon I really fear the worst
