We aren't gonna be sold, I posted a few days ago that I'd been told he'd keep the club for 2 more years.

I'm not gonna name my source because I don't feel it would be right, but he only recently left the club.

Trust me or not I don't care, but that's what I've been told.

If he's left the club, how would he know what was going on at board level?

I would have thought people would have grown tired of posting rubbish like this by now

I really hope that Fat Ashley doesn't stay just because we've had a good start, but unfortunately, that's exactly what I can see happening.

Fingers crossed it doesn't!

Yeah i agree with this :(

I've told people already what the press conference is about...Nicky Butt is being made player-manager.

I really don't know why people are failing to grasp this news.

I don't beleive that for a moment - I have an ITK who says that he's being named Life-President and is going to appoint a management dream-team of Cacapa and Des Hamilton, with Gary Brady as Director Of Football.

There's nothing I hate more than people fabricating bullshit, and if bullshit is exactly what I've been told then I'll be pissed off.

Ignore it or believe it, like I said I don't care. We'll see on Monday anyway.

It probably will transpire to be true in th end, but that doesn't make you ITK or whathaveyou. It just means you've read the papers.

Fucking hell man

I don't want to be regarded as some 'ITK' or whatever. I don't read the s**** written in the papers either, but I had the fortune to speak to somebody who has strong connections with the club, and it's too tempting to post what I've been told. I don't want to post any names because It'd be disrespectful.

Mystery group confident of buying Newcastle

Aug 23 2009 by Neil Farrington, Sunday Sun

A MYSTERY consortium remains confident of buying Newcastle United – despite talk of Mike Ashley officially taking the club back off the market tomorrow.

After months of stalemate at St James’s Park, and with the transfer window barely a week away, Ashley is set to announce his plans for the Magpies’ immediate future.

And Barry Moat’s struggle to raise the money to meet Ashley’s asking price has raised the prospect of the Newcastle owner shelving his sale plans and renewing his search for an interim manager.

But an as yet unnamed consortium – whose interest in United was revealed in last week’s Sunday Sun – believe they can strike a deal for the club soon, whatever is said tomorrow.

The group concerned have been in direct talks with Ashley’s representatives rather than supposed dealbrokers Seymour Pierce.

If Moat – although thought to have financial backing from a property developer, Ben Zion Rabinowitz – does fall short in his takeover bid, there remains the possibility of Ashley offering him a place on the club’s board.

But the prospect of Alan Shearer making a permanent return to St James’s as manager remains distant, with the former United captain yesterday dismissing rumours that he has quit his BBC pundit role in readiness to retake the Newcastle hotseat.

One would-be buyer who has been ruled out of the running by Ashley is Fanbase 410, the group proposing to relaunch Newcastle as a Barcelona-style, fan-driven democracy

ive not really followed the takeover thread but i dont get how Moat needs bank loans to take over when he has "financial backing from a property developer, Ben Zion Rabinowitz" also why are we pushing for this bloke to take over when he is needing the club to sell 3 more key players to get bank funding, or do we need to do this even with ashley staying put?

If we don't get sold in this transfer window we need the club to have an unassailable lead at the top of the Championship by the January transfer window. That way Mike Ashley can officially put the club up for sale in January (as a Premier League bound club) rather than ruin another Summer transfer window.

"To announce news of NUFC's future on Monday"

Now where have I heard that before....

As for the protest putting potential buyers off - I said so at the time.

Even allowing for that - I am baffled that teams of limited appeal like Portsmouth and Birmingham are having interested parties, we are getting suspicious groups with no cash. Graham Roberts talking about Newcastle fans putting money into THEIR bid made me a bit more than "suspicious" to say the least.

I don't know if the rumour of a mystery bidder coming in at the death is bollocks but my only hope is that just as Fat Mike might have decided that the good start makes the club worth hanging onto, maybe some rich party will also be tempted to make a late move.

it's clearly Shepherd - it's the only person they could know about as a mystery bidder. That fat twat will be desperate to get his grubby mitts back on the club, it was a money making machine for him

it not about Barry Moat getting a new loan, its about transfering the current Barclays overdraft from Mike Ashley to Barry Moat. Thats why Barclays want the overdraft reduced before any deal is done. Which means player sales.
