how serious is the Newcastle trust? they had some news conference today. If they are good enogh I think they are our best bet.....

i think they're really serious but as they've only so far raised £20m they are further away from buying than the likes of Moat.  Personally i would like to see Moat come and join the NUST as surely together they could get Ashley out.

They havent raised anything. They say they have pledges from various so far un qualified sources and are wanting people to transfer their pension into Newcastle united.

How the hell have NUST raised £20m anyway?

From local businesses and a few mentalists wanting to use there pensions!!!  i'll just stick to paying my tenner every year!  its not going to raise £20m but they've also set up a kind of charity where money goes to them when u do online shopping from the likes of Amazon, HMV, Argos etc

They have basically raised 20mil on a promise. They do not have the cash availible, and i guarantee most people have offered it because they think it will never go ahead in a million years.

As for the other bids, i agree with what someone else said, that it is a sign the casino cunt is back in town spinning his very own roulette wheel of horseshit!

I still think it is best if the supporters have some say in the board room. they should form some sort of alliance with Mort and take some shareholding sorta thing.....

The match day thread during a game is a perfect example of why this is a terrible idea.

A sensible guess as to why a large share of the club being owned by fans is a good idea is that it would eliminate the chance of another Mike Ashley having sole ownership and the right to keep us all in the dark, It would not be so fans could manage the 1st team... the thought of this is just plain laughable.

I would like to see the money placed alongside a consortium or sole owner so the fans could own about 20% of the club, It would seem more convincing for a sole owner to buy us to make a proffit later (Not what I would want to see).

Fans getting involved in ownership is not necessarily a bad thing, however i'm 100% convinced that our fans getting involved would be an absolute abortion of an idea.

Well if they do take over now I think you can consider your catering firm boycoutted for any events they decide to hold!

They'll get Greggs to do it anyway.

Squad full of Viduka's munching on Caramel Dougnuts and Pink Splits at half time (love asking for the pink splits btw "one with plenty cream inside"  always gets a little blush from the gals behind the counter)..

one of the reason's why the barcelona model works, is each board member must pay 2m euros to be on the board, means that only wealthy businessmen can be on it

the last think i want here is a fan's buyout, i still blame those idiots at the hull game last season for quite a few of our problems

well.. what problems did they cause?  We realised we had a incompetent owner.. so he wanted to leave?  you are blaming us for that??

Well in no particular order..

MA tried to sell the club, but his asking price was too high.

He appointed JFK

He didnt strengthen in January.

The structure of the club was never clear.

He sold our most valuable players.

He had no contingency plan.

He filled valuable positions like DoF with people with no experience.

What did the fans do?
