Hanshithispantz
I wouldn't even be giving interviews if my country and team were likely to be going home in 4 days time with 0 points like. Atleast Ireland have the excuse of being involved with one of Groups of Death.
Ronaldo
If they can iron out the fundamental problem they have with keeping a lead, England can potentially stifle teams all the way to the semis, especially if Rooney's up for it. I think they'll beat Ukraine, finishing top of the group and meeting Croatia in the quarters. Even if we beat Ukraine we wont finish the top of the group unless France f*ck things up royally... So Spain it is. No way in hell we are stifling Spain, even Italy who is going to lock down Pirlo & Cassano from combining? it's very very unlikely imo we would have to get ridiculously lucky even the Croat's we would struggle to get past IMO. Ok we scraped past a very poor Sweden side or apart from Ibra is full of very poor players ( some of which ply their trade at the bottom of the Premier League or Championship) but lets not go nuts we are still very poor and haven't really shown anything that would suggest we could oust Spain, Italy or even Croatia. Pirlo and Cassano.

Shame we didn't bury that late chance last night. However i'm still not overly impressed with France and i don't think it's a foregone conclusion that they'll top the group. A fired-up Rooney could help us a lot. If France win 1-0 and England win by 2, that'll see us top. Not beyond the realms of possibility.

Ronaldo
Pirlo's at leat 5 years past his best and Cassano has less than half as many international goals as Peter Crouch. There's very, very little to fear in that Italian side.

I'd be more concerned of Cassano's creative talent than his goalscoring tbh..... and Pirlo 5 years past his best? take it you didnt watch Juventus this season then? henke
Agreed. You need your best player playing, simple as that. Absolutely, Rooney has to play. It's just unfortunate that the guy who makes way will undoubtedly be either Welbeck or Carroll. Both of whom are in much better form than Milner. Guest firetotheworks
Carroll should and probably will make way. He's always a good alternative.

Dr.Spaceman
I think he means he's still a great player, just not as great as he once was, which is quite irrelevant when he's still head and shoulders above anything we've got.

Guest Howaythetoon
England are a weird side at the moment. In the first half we looked really good and pretty competent but for large spells in the second half we were shocking and comical even. We are poor at set pieces too in terms of defending and although we scored 3 goals we still look a bit tame up front. Parker is a waste of a shirt at this level, the game is slow and more tactical and therefore there is no need for him and his tackling and snapping away. We could do with someone like Carrick or Scholes in there who can pick the ball up and move it quickly while aslo sitting to protect just in case. Parker's passing just isn't good enough or quick enough. Gerrard has two assists but he's another waste of a shirt. He and Parker were miles away from the strikers and are so pedestrian even a pedestrian Swedish midfield overran them at times. Young has to be dropped too as does Milner. Lastly.... Terry If he were a horse at Cheltenham he'd be put down. At this level he looks so out of place. Lescott on the other hand was very good as too were the full-backs, although Johnson had a few iffy moments.
LFEE
So baring in mind the players who asked not to be selected and the injuries the original squad has sustained what would your first 11 be HTT?...

The fat c*** wasn't even watching then was more bothered about pressing buttons. f***ing awful. Pressing buttons while bragging about how he can do what he wants. Vile. Spent some of Spain v Ireland listening to an alternative commentary on Absolute radio with Mark Watson and his brother which was quite good. Highlight being "Iniesta goes by on a unicycle there, as Pique sets up a barbecue in the corner."
