Wallace
Had I been an nufc player with access to Lambias/Ashley, I would be in prison now As much as we complain about the lack of communication from Ashley and Llambias, it is the same for the players. There have been countless reports in the last year where individual players or the players committee have requested meetings and they have been refused. I think that is pretty bad - the players are their employees and I think there should be some dialogue as a matter of respect.
Raconteur
A positive spin might be that it shows some players have some pride left, by making a stand and demanding improvements to their workplace...
madras
A positive spin might be that it shows some players have some pride left, by making a stand and demanding improvements to their workplace... true......wish they'd have shown it last season though. Dokko
End of the day we can't do fuk all to force the sale through, seems Shearer has no say either, the only ones who are possibly on our side and have some power is the players. Good reaction from them, shame it didn't come sooner.
Dave
I don't think Ashley will give a flying fuck what the players think, personally.

Also true - but I would expect the players leading the "revolt" (Taylor, Beye and Bassong are mentioned) are the very few who did give everything last season. The problem was that there wasn't enough to form a team...
Dokko
I don't think Ashley will give a flying fuck what the players think, personally. He will when there's no one coming to training while Newcastle haven't any players for the start of the season then we have to forfeit and be relegated again. Dave
Funnily enough, this story has got around the media much quicker than Llambias' comments yesterday. I guess they're all refreshing NewsNow.

Skirge
Total OTT repoeting again, revolt NO be pissed off at the situation YES be professional about it YES..Nothing wrong at all if some of the players say look get it sorted or we will hand in transfer requests, who can blame them, all they are asking for is a manager. Not to much to ask for at all is it really.

JH
At the end of the day, the players couldn't have thought of anything worse to do. Who's going to buy a club with no players?

dustynrg
Shite journalism I would guess, if handing in a transfer request means losing a penny of their enormous wages they will stay put.The problem will be getting rid of the bastards to clubs who have more sensible wage policies. They want to be grateful they aren't fans like us who have no choice but to have a life long allegiance to an underperforming white elephant of a club. And as long as wor Hab stays I couldn't care who goes tbh.

TRon
Guthrie's tattoos looked good last season, shame he's turned them into a sleeve, looks awful It's a shame he can't play as hard as he (tries to) look. All bark and no bite last season, let's hope he can show a bit more this time round.

ikri
If the players revolted and all demanded transfers would that not mean that they'd lose out on loyalty bonuses, etc. that they'd be entitled to if the club put them up for sale? Wonder how much the club would stand to save by accepting transfer requests?
