Interesting as well Freddy saying he didn't want to sack him. I know it's Freddy and we have to take it with a pinch of salt but I still believe he didn't want to and had to do the Hall's dirty work.

:nope:

This.

A friend of the family who was on that very board was gobsmacked when Freddy came out with that on Friday. Lets just say his statement about Robson's sacking couldn't be further from the truth.

Completely different to what I've been told like and from someone who I wouldn't doubt for a second. Although I'll leave it there as this thread isn't the time or the place to get into a debate about this.

I think the myth that Bobby lost the dressing room was down to more than one player. Some senior players (who bent over backwards to help the manager that followed) had a part to play aswell.

Just watched the BBC documentary about Sir Bobby, and do you know what hurts the most? That in his dying moments, his beloved Newcastle was at it's lowest ebb in over a decade. Just been relegated, a shambles inside and out, a useless owner destroying the club he lived for, no manager and a bunch of useless hasbeens as a playing staff. And I fear we'll never see the dizzying hights he took us to in my lifetime. Thanks for the Champions league football Bobby, I'll always be greatful for what you did for us.

Sousa reveals his weekly calls to ‘huge loss’ Sir Bob

PAULO SOUSA has revealed how he called Sir Bobby Robson every week for the last 18 months as the man who managed him at Sporting Lisbon in the early nineties battled cancer.

The Swans boss was paying tribute to Sir Bobby, whose death on Friday at the age of 76 sent the football world into mourning.

The former England supremo signed Sousa for Sporting in the summer of 1993 and the pair never lost touch.

Sousa said: “I was shocked and deeply saddened by Sir Bobby’s death,

“He earned the right to be called Sir because of the recognition he had throughout world football from players, supporters, directors etc.

“My sadness hurts even deeper because I tried to call him on Thursday.

“I have called him on a weekly basis for the last 18 months to see how he is and to give him my support in his battle against illness.

“The way Sir Bobby fought against his illness was the same way he lived his life on a daily basis as a player and a manager — with enthusiasm, emotion, passion and courage.

“Sadly he didn’t answer my last call and today I realised why there was only silence. His loss is huge and impossible for his friends, family and football to repair. I want to send my condolences to his family and friends and join the tributes pouring in from all over the footballing world.

“I hope he rests in peace because he was one of the best managers I have ever known and one of the kindest people I have had the pleasure to meet. His image and memory will remain with me forever.”

Hating Ashley for what he's done to the club is totally fair, but to leave a message basically wishing he died of cancer is just going over the top and not necessary at all.

As if Bobby would want want such a disgraceful message left at his memorial.

Fucking retards. At the end of the day, footballs just a game and to wish anybody death over it is frankly disgraceful.

This thread is taking a turn for the worst like. It even seems wrong to see swearing in here. I know its just a forum, but it just seems a bit disrespectful, along with that absolutely disgusting message about Ashley, and the other irrelevant messages about Shepherd, The Halls, Dyer, Man United fans etc in a thread that is purely here to show our respects for someone that we greatly admired and loved, and that wouldn't entertain such rubbish. I dont think Im really going ott either.
