The other games today - 2009/10

Recommended Posts

I can't see them going down either, but you never know. Not winning todays game could of knocked even more confidence out of them, to be honest at this point last season I saw enough points for us to get to stay clear of relegation aswell, so you just never know.

Graham Courtney said tonight that Sunderland are on exactly the same number of points, having played the same number of games, as we did last year.

It could happen.

On the evidence of today's game, Sunderland are far from safe, they have two things going in their favour; Their are a number of equally woeful teams at the bottom withless points than them and Darren Bent in a world cup year. Hopefully a few of the teams below them start to pick up some points, can't really see it happen though :(

It wont, they have one of the most natural goalscorers in the league.

If he gets injured for a period longer than 2 months it probably will happen btw.

So did we, apparently in Owen, plus we had Martins who was always capable of getting a goal.

But we didn't though, as most with sense knew.

Oh come on you were banging on about Viduka who since leaving us even the A-League clubs wont touch. At least Oba & Owen managed to blag there way into joining CL clubs.

Iniesta goal at Chelsea sparks Barca baby boom

MADRID - The week when Barcelona thrashed Real Madrid and sealed their place in the Champions League final has prompted a surge in births in the Catalan capital of almost 50 percent, according to a survey by a local radio station.

Nine months since Barca's 6-2 home win over their arch- rivals and Andres Iniesta's stunning late strike which took them through to the final at the expense of Chelsea, maternity hospitals are struggling to cope with demand for beds.

A survey by COMRadio showed that births this week and those expected next week are 45 percent higher than the average.

"When we notice some sort of surge we look for the reason and it's evident that the cause of the increase this week is the euphoria of Barca fans thanks to the huge win and Iniesta's goal," El Mundo newspaper quoted Mercedes Rodriguez of the city's Quiron Clinic as saying.

The babies are popularly known in Barcelona as "the Iniesta generation."

Viduka was injured for 85% of last season, and isn't a natural goalscorer as such anyway.

Anyone got any bets on Premier League relegation? So many s*** teams.

Got the mackems 23/1, made the bet straight after the chelski match.

I hope Moses does the buisness for Wigan on Saturday,  That would see the mackems in deep shite.  Sad to say though that the one thing the mackems have in their advantage over the other teams in the relegation fight is a goalscorer in Bent. Hopefully he pulls his hamstring and is out for a while.

Where's the mugs who were tripping over themselves to tell us how much we needed Bagpuss?

It's all a cunning plan ;)
