David28
Joey Barton marches into Spain and takes control of the Trofeo Teresa Herrera trophy. Best thread title ever. And one of the best threads ever. The commentatory at the match "TV's" that day.

Skirge
Newcastle United unwilling to soften their stance on Joey Barton • Stoke the only club to show interest in the midfielder • Alan Pardew adamant there is no way back for Barton http://www.guardian.co.uk/football/2011/aug/03/newcastle-united-joey-barton-stoke

DJ_NUFC
Why hasn't Pardew come out and not said anything about what's been going on with Joey? We at least need to know if these decisions are his or being made above his head, even though we already know the answer.

Hanshithispantz
It's absolute bullshit this like, all of it. Fucking "no way back" What? After a twitter comment, of which he has made far worse in the past? If those cunts at the club had any care at all about the actual footballing part of Newcastle United they would take him off the transfer list and stop been a bunch of bairns. Yes Joey hasn't exactly been an angel, and in many other walks of life he'd have been sacked, but none of this is good for the club at all.
DJ_NUFC
They want him off the wage list mate. Their plan of reducing the wage list creatively is at least hugely entertaining. I just can't wait to see what they have in store for Alan Smith.
Sifu
His press conference is at 2pm tomorrow. Should be interesting. Though Pardew will probably be fed stuff to say by Ashley and Llambias through an earpiece or given a piece of paper to read from if he can't answer a question. Guest BooBoo
On Barton: "Joey has made it very clear since not being given the contrat he wants that he's not happy at the club. When that happens, it's best for both parties to have a clean break." On Jose: "Jose wants to move on, there's little we could have done. He was offered an exceptional contract." On transfers: "Hopefully one, ideally two in before Arsenal. Market will begin to heat up in the last fortnight of the window. It was important to move one or two out first." And then a lot of bollocks about how Fiorentina will be a great test, good occasion, chance to put out a strong team. Zzzz zzz.

Wouldn't be suprised if it was exactly what he is going to say tomorrow. Especially the words about Barton seem very realistic and Pardew-like to me. Plus the 2011 summer mantra: "We've been in for world class players but unfortunately it hasn't gone our way and they've ended up at other clubs. Hopefully the fans will see that as a sign of our ambition and our willingness to invest in the squad".
