toontownman
Must have browsed past that King article on newsnow 10 times before actually realising it was about Marlon King, not Harewood! Neither is a particularly attractive option, but we arent in a position to be that picky! I'd rather have Harewood though, King would upset the applecart very quickly. SUPERTOON
The Journal reckons we will sign Harewood, plus a defender and winger on loan next week. http://www.journallive.co.uk/nufc/newcastle-united-news/2009/09/04/newcastle-united-target-three-loan-signings-61634-24604460
AyeDubbleYoo
Can't see that anyone will be coming in on loan now - doubt we could convince anyone it was an 'emergency', could we? http://www.newcastle-online.org/nufcforum/index.php/topic,64279.0.html
Pilko
I hope we steer well clear of Marlon King, I don't want that little shit causing trouble in the apparently tight-knit group.

Championship clubs have always signed players on short term loan deals, and we are not the only club who has said we will use it.

Probably like most things in football, there are rules but you don't have to abide by them if you don't fancy it. The term 'emergency' is just their way of getting round the transfer window for lower league clubs. It doesn't have to be any special situation to sign a player on loan for 3 months. Which is what is said in that thread if you read it all.

Cajun
Defender, winger and another forward, that's more like it! Obviously most obvious guesses for the forward and defender are harewood and cathcart (or whatever he is called) any guesses on the winger? Is bale firmly out of the picture? This is all assuming the story isn't a load of shit obviously.
Pilko
Rose will be the winger most likely, or at least that's what I reckon the paper is getting at. Having said that, I always thought Rose was an out and out striker until GG said otherwise.

Yorkie
Frustrating as hell they couldn't just get their arses in gear, and we could have had them all for the season, rather than a month or two.

Chrisjraby
Why are we not going for Henri Camara for christ's sake?! Better to get him on a season long contract than some mug on a 3 month deal. Although, looks like Pompey may get him. http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-1211679/Portsmouth-ready-land-Henri-Camara-free-boost-depleted-attack.html

Guest Roger Kint
Can you loan players from other countries? Of course, its commonplace all over the Premier League, Pompey and WBA did it with several players last year and this. The rules on loans that Dave posted even say theres no limit to overseas loans iirc
Village Idiot
I don't think that's true for *emergency* loans outside the window, though. As teams outside England would face re-registration issues after the loan expires, as our transfer windows are shut and we don't recognize this kind of loan in our transfer systems.
