Pre-season specialist Haris Vučkić joins FC Twente

I think he's talented but he's not very mobile and he's pretty injury-prone. I could see him making a good career in a less physical or slower league.

Italy. Don't know about good career but at least a better one.

Thought last season was going to be an important one for him (obs injury curtailed that).  Can't say i've seen much to whet the appetite.

Yeah i thought last season was his big chance, ruined by injury but had a feeling if it never woked out, the club would flog him this summer.

I really think that he'll struggle to make it here due to Pardew being in charge. If we had a more progressive manager I think he'd flourish due to his vision and techincal ability, but sadly his lack of pace will see him exposed in how we play.

I think he can still come good if he can have an injury free season and is given some games.

Tend to agree Mick. If I remember right Pardew really likes him, spoke very well about him when he first arrived and such, and has given him pre season games before. It's gonna take a hell of a lot of work and time to come back from that injury 100% but you never know

Always been intrigued to see him as he was pretty hyped up, but never seen anything to suggest why.  Obviously injury prone too, not confident he'll make it here.

On a side note, he's a reet puff ..... remember seeing him wave to the sideline and head towards the bench when he got hit in the face with the ball, can't remember who against but that's my main memory of him

It was against Liverpool, actually managed to distract everyone by doing that and we ended up scoring

Like Vuckic but seems limited physically and has a terrible injury record so far.

I want to be optimistic about him, but my honest reaction to the thread title was to think of that Dog-by-the-garden-door Meme "let me in so I can go back outside again".

He starts pre-season for the umpteenth time with it all to prove. I want to believe.

(...but we have Pardew so it doesn't matter anyway)

Injuries could be down to him growing into the big lad he is. I would have thought that should be over now. This season will tell us a lot about him. Physically and talent wise.

Hope you're right, and he has a good pre-season to get up to speed. Don't want to right him off but the signs need to improve.

And he needs to find a position, rather than be master of a few. I would play him in central midfield as i see him as a player who could get goals from there.

Just a theory.

I wonder if he could be moulded into the same kind of player Michu is. A deeper lying striker who links play and plays at the head of a formation.

Very good shout actually. Michu isn't that quick but he times his runs well. That position seems to be becoming more common as well.

Always looked impressive in the little bits he's played, particularly the 2-4 against WBA just before Christmas, season before last when he crashed one against the bar from about 30 yards.

shows how different people can view the game as i've seen nothing apart from that shot to make me think he's anything special. not writing him off yet mind.
