Pre-season specialist Haris Vučkić joins FC Twente

He's only 21, what exactly is very early on?

From the first time I saw him feature for us, probably because of the hype surrounding him aswell like, but for me he doesn't seem to know what to do with the ball when he has it and is painfully slow.

Scored a heavily deflected goal in Europe and cracked the bar against West Brom... apart from that hes been dump.

Hope I'm wrong and the lad turns into a star but personally I can't see it.

The likes of Bigirimana, Dummett and Haidara have come in with less performances and impressed a lot more.

I don't see him making it myself tbh but has he really had less performances than those mentioned?

Exactly. He's not had a run in the team, can't remember him playing more than two games in a row before injury. People congratulating themselves because they 'knew' he was never going to make it are morons. Just like people knew that Williamson/Tiote is turbo shit and should never be allowed in the side again.

He's been very unlucky with injuries and that has contributed to the fact that he will probably not have a career here.

Didn't see anyone congratulating themselves like, was simply making an opinion of him, it just so happens that I've had this opinion for a while, just never thought he would cut the mustard, theres plenty of players who I thought WOULD make it and didn't so I could be wrong.

Damn my opinion, damn it to hell.

:spit:

In the words of Dave, easiest job in the world.

They must do stuff like that on purpose to get more hits. Where do places like that get the pics from? If they just google image it then putting Haris Vuckic into the search bar will bring up a shit load of Vuckic pics and it'll probably be pages before you get to a Santon one.

They usually have deals with certain companies, like Reuters or Getty for example - and can only use their's whilst attributing the photographer. They probably couldn't get access one of Vuckic.

Not that it makes it any better.

Lets be realistic about all this - the club hasn't produced a regular PL class youngster since Watson, Elliott and Clarkie got into the side under Ardiles and KK...even then, the first two were blighted by injury and Clarkie was never really top class - played his best games in the 1st Div and early on in our first season in the PL.

We haven't produced a real international star since Gazza....30 years ago and this from an area that once produced real class players.

Although Vukic is not from the UK, he has been a part of our Junior set up for years but he lacks pace and is not PL potential standard.

Our youth set-up, both in scouting and coaching, is poor and there is too much hype written about the 'potential' of this or that player...Campbell is another example.

Just another reason the club needs running by properly qualified professionals and NOT the amateurs who masquerade as such that we have now. We are NOT an attractive destination for top young players or their parents.

I'm fairly sure we produced the most expensive English player ever just a few seasons ago.

EDIT: Could probably include Krul in that category as well.

Are you seriously putting Carroll in Gazza's class..? He might have been the most expensive English player at the time, but he wasn't worth half of what Liverpool paid for him and he has been a flop at club level since.

As for Krul, apart from being Dutch, he hasn't yet been sold and as a keeper is unlikely to fetch the sort of money that a modern Gascoigne would go for.

So you're saying we havent produced a player like Gazza. One of the most talented players in modern times. Yeah, great point.

Said from very early on that I didn't think Vuckic would make it and I still feel the same.

Combination of being incredibly injury prone and incredibly average.

I bet you feel great about yourself guys.

Oh boo hoo... just because you were impressed by a few flicks, tricks or passes. Oh look at him... he looks like RVP when he plays!!! Class!
