Guest Phil K
Stan Collymore on Twitter - Martin is 100% not going anywhere. Trust me. He's a Villa fan, he would say that. O'Neill was in a rage of Villa fans booing the team, I know that.
Jordan
Newcastle's fight and desire will keep them in the Premier League - Matt Lawrence, The Mirror Newcastle United were promoted on Monday without having to kick a ball. Nottingham Forest’s goalless draw with Cardiff City ensured the Geordies' swift return to the Premier League. Nobody can deny that they deserved it, but from a totally selfish point of view it will mean that I will not return to St James’ Park next year – unless we draw them in the Cup. Bugger! It has been a privilege to have Newcastle in the Championship. Many observers thought the rot would set in amongst everything black ‘n’ white. Comparisons with Leeds United were being bandied about and to be perfectly honest, with all the turmoil on and off the pitch, that was a reasonable conclusion to draw. From the moment Leyton Orient bashed them 6-1 in pre-season, Newcastle haven’t looked back. With many of the overpaid and under-performing prima donnas of last season’s team long gone, Newcastle United have looked a team made for the Championship. I say that in no-way belittling the current squad. What I mean is that from the onset of the season Newcastle looked up for the battle. And that is the one thing you need in the Championship. Once they had matched the physicality of the opposition their undeniable quality would be given the chance to shine through. With the spine of the team ready to get down and dirty, the flair players were given the opportunity to shine. From back to front – Harper, Taylor, Nolan, Smith and Carroll are all up for the fight (I accept that’s maybe not the wisest choice of words, but bear with me!) and the likes of Gutierrez, Lovenkrands and Routledge are there to provide the flair. And in Jose Enrique I believe they have the best player in the league. There are not many full backs you can say are a joy to watch, certainly not in the Championship, where hoof it in the channel is the only technical requirement. But, he is another of those players who make the game look so simple. Cool, calm and collected. Never rushed. Never fazed. Just a great footballer. In addition to the playing staff, you obviously have the understated role of Chris Hughton as manager. For a man who did not even want the job at the start of the season, we have seen Hughton grow into the position and guide the side seemingly effortlessly into the Premier League. And if anyone deserves to be supporting a Premier League team it is the Newcastle fans. Loud, proud and passionate. Let’s hope for their sake that a decent investment is made in the playing squad, but ultimately that the fight and desire isn’t taken from the current Newcastle United team. The fight and desire that has been shown this season will keep them in the Premier League. I am sure of that.

Thespence
, Keys was heard to say on an online stream of the match: "Get up, you stupid little boy. "You've been s***e, son, in your daft pink boots - absolute rubbish." Later on, former TV-am presenter Keys asked studio pundits Graeme Souness and Ruud Gullit: "Who's farted? It's not me." Gray was also heard laying into Walcott on a feed picked up on Dutch television. According to the Daily Mail, the former Everton, Wolves and Aston Villa striker said: "That Walcott's s***e, isn't he?" http://uk.eurosport.yahoo.com/08042010/58/premier-league-keys-gray-caught-slating-walcott.html Not the 1st time Dickie Key has dropped a bollock http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=p7gCYAtmYSI

Gary Liddle received his 10th yellow card of the season in Easter Saturday's 3-1 win at Leyton Orient - earning him an automatic two-game ban. But the 23-year-old played in Monday's 2-0 win over Brighton when he should have been banned. Pools have until April 26 to respond to the charge.
