So, Mr Evra and Mr Ferdinand, I know you feel insulted. But perhaps in this case you could just put up with it and get on with the game.

Is a real line from a real newspaper article? Fucking hell

quite smartly written from their point of view. hide the point of the article in the very last line, a place most Mail readers won't reach, and get the numbskulls onside from the off by starting out with something heart-warming but utterly irrelevent like criticising a Politically Correct book, having a dig at a random foreign nation and defending the british ownership of Gibraltar.

Just another way of squeezing money out of the game. I hope people realise this is why we can't have fixtures on here - it's not beyond the realms of possibility that an email like that goes directly to our host and they immediately pull the plug.

I've never understood how they could copyright them. And I'm no lawyer, clearly, but..

We wish to make you aware that we have a good faith belief that your present use is an infringement of the Leagues' legal rights

...what the hell does that even mean.

it's a like band announcing dozens of live gigs and then banning anyone who doesnt pay you a fixed sum from publishing the dates and locations of the concerts. counter productive as its essentially free advertising for the premiership.

it's one of the best examples of how out of control capitalism has become in the UK. using common sense widespread publishing of fixtures would benefit every single party - the problem is they're looking to squeeze every penny out of the product so they've tried to commercialise something as simple as fixture info by outsourcing it. might earn you a relative pittance in absolute terms but its counter productive in that it can reduce the visibility of fixtures, harms word of mouth PR and disgruntles the very customers you are trying to attract. cannibalistic.
