QBG
Geremi can at least put crosses in the box. He's clearly compensating for the fact that we're away and we got overrun in midfield in our last away game. Calm down ffs. i'm not that arsed about geremi, its the idea that he isnt even trying to improve the defence which has shown that they clearly are not good enough. With no Taylor and Coloccini its a bit difficult to be fair. None of the understudies would be able to handle this game. He's picked a midfield that can battle and get some decent delivery in the box. People talk about adding extra pace but the only two that add that in midfield are Lua-Lua and Vuckic. Pilko
Can people wait till we lose before they start complaining? Cheers.
QBG
Yep, putting Geremi in the midfield will stop up getting overrun... Was referring to us playing 5 in midfield.
bowlingcrofty
That's not a bad selection man. The two biggest duckeggs from the previous game are out, we have reinforced the midfield and Nolan/Jonas will be pushing up with Carroll. Give it a chance ffs

jdckelly
Geremi is who I would have started and nolan does his best work nearer the front than in cm in a 442. Good line up if you ask me. Give him a chance ffs
Keefaz
One of the good things about Hughton is that he's willing to make changes if needs be.
Pilko
All I will say is that how is Nolan going to be able to play his inevitable 90 minutes?

David28
One of the good things about Hughton is that he's willing to make changes if needs be. I still think the best thing about him is that he leaves Butt out every game tbh.
jdckelly
Is Nicky Butt injured? I've been out of the loop lately, just noticed he's not even on the bench flu according to shields gazetter
Guest icemanblue
Quite happy with the team tbh. Glad Guthrie is back in the middle, Geremi can at least cross the ball once in a while and Harewood didn't deserve a start after the weekend. Truth. Good team selection based on the last game. Were we playing Ipswich at home I'd put him in there, but he's looked abit out of his depth in cup games where teams were up for it. Scunny will be up for it no question. colinmk
For all the people going on about that lineup, what exactly could he do any different to improve the defence or improve the midfield? Look at the bench! Lineup is not far off how I would have it, I would of dropped Nolan for one of the striekrs though.

KaKa
Actually happy with that team. With Taylor having to drop into right back due to Simpson going central we've had no delivery into the box from out wide, so Geremi is a good idea. Guthrie and Smith in centre mid also gives us the most mobility we can have in there.

He definitely doesn't just leave things as they are when they don't work in the previous game, and I for one appreciate that.

There were plenty of possible CB targets in the summer.
