Ikon
Would like to have a RB that can play football tbh.
Kanj
A RB who could put in a decent driven cross - his floating crosses are abs piss poor.
ponsaelius
Good player, hope he signs, but he's replaceable, probably for less than what we will get for him. Agree with this, other than I don't think he'd command a great deal so I'm not sure about improving on him for less than that. Couldn't be that hard. Would like him very much, but if i had to choose i would rather see us sign a quality LB and play Santon on the right. Not sure we can find a cheap LB as good as Clyne is at RB though (know that Clyne has played LB as well) Clyne would probably cost as much as we get for Simpson, or maybe even less. I have no problem with Santon at LB. Clyne and Mbiwa in would be great.
AyeDubbleYoo
I like him, don't want him to leave. But if he wants more money then I don't blame him for looking elsewhere. Whether or not we should up his wages or whatever to keep him depends on too many factors to judge really.
Ikon
He's not good enough to start for us imo (if we wanna get better) and i doubt that he'd accept being second choice.
Wil
Unlikely he'll get a better offer from the club, and Pardew himself went public calling on him to sign, so reckon the writing's on the wall. Have appreciated his defending for us this season though.
Ronaldo
Fucking Twitter, man. No doubt Skirge and the rest of the monkeys will have been having a pop.
gbandit
Have absolutely no problem whatsoever with him leaving. Not good enough on the ball, defensively he's passable against poor teams. I'm not going to slate him and call him an awful player like many did at the start of the season but he's certainly not good enough to push us on. If we are pushing on.... it's difficult to tell right now
Geordie Ahmed
I like the guy, think he is sound BUT he is an average player. We can and should get better. Preferably someone who can control a ball and offers a decent threat going forward
Cajun
Fucking Twitter, man. No doubt Skirge and the rest of the monkeys will have been having a pop. I've seen someone having a pop, he always seems to be having digs at Simpson though so it's not a surprise. To be honest I didn't even know he had turned down the contract when I first read twitter, just assumed it was another baseless dig.
midds
Could be a case of the agent trying it on knowing we're short on defenders, trying to squeeze a few grand out of Ashley? Let's see how this pans out Danny... Wonder where he washes up?

He's not irreplaceable but we'll need another one in if he goes this window though.
thomas
Villa - where our RB's go to die.

Let's see how this pans out Danny... Wonder where he washes up? More than likely. It has been reported that Simpson isn't receiving a wage which reflects his status in the team (starter/first choice RB) so guess he's still persisting. I'd hope a compromise can be sorted out though.
Super Duper Branko Strupar
Any realistic reports of what he's on out of curiosity?
Guest axel
He's completely average but atm there are other areas which are more important to strengthen and in the next 6-12 months he will probably be a valuable player for us but after that i think he will be moved on if we're going to improve and challenge for Europe. Ketsbaia
Villa and QPR? Clubs that have just bought Alan Hutton and Luke Young in the same position? I like Simmo, he plays OK and seems like a nice guy. He's very replaceable but we may as well just keep him as backup.
Guest
I reckon he'll be at Birmingham in the next 12 months, be it in the Premier League or Championship.

Though don't think Simpson will want to play in the Championship again.
Guest Mantis
With injuries and ACN round the corner, we aren't really in a position to be moving players on in January. I feel we've been here before. January, needing incoming players, then shipping out a player without replacing.
wormy
If it's not a ridiculous payrise he's after, I'd consider it. Depending on how much he's on already, as I'm basing that on this idea that he supposedly isn't earning that much relative to the fact he's a starter for us. But if he's getting big-headed thoughts from his agent on what he could get elsewhere, good riddance. Would like to think they wouldn't be big enough twats to ditch him for a couple of million in January though, would be more than worth letting him go for free and keeping that little bit more stability in the team for the second half of the season. On a positive note, I like the fact that this is the guy who we should be 'doing better than', compared to other starting players in recent years who we've considered the weak links. Mick
Simpson is better in his position than Obertan or Ryan Taylor.
wormy
Simpson is better in his position than Obertan or Ryan Taylor. I'm not on the side of slating him at all. Think he gets a lot more stick than he deserves. But that people have to focus on him as one of our weak links can only be a positive, as he generally will put in a solid performance, if not outstanding. He's not a fantastic player, but not one I'd be happy to see the back of.
