Report: New kit deal agreed with Puma

Recommended Posts

If you don't know who the players are by their position and how they run/look/play then you shouldn't be at the f***ing game anyway. :smug:

and unfortunatly the way we've played the last few seasons the players don't move about too much to get anyone confused.

Somebody's attempt at Puma designs.

Puma, if you're reading this, just use this shirt

The back of the Jersey is the trouble part - as numbers and names are hard to read without a patch of some shape or form.  I felt the white patch on the back of the current jersey was too big (and would have been better black insted of white).

So I wondered what the back of the jersey might look like if we used one of the mooted Puma designs. Did them both with/without names/numbers as it changes how they look.  I know they will be slated  :-[  so fire away   :frantic:

No need to be modest, its class. Would definately buy that.

The back of our shirt has never been any good anyway. The best we can do with stripes is either yellow (not gold) or blue. If we need a patch on the back it should have a much better design than our last to shirts. Something like this could work:

ill be honest i never minded last seasons shirt with the black patch, this seasons white one though.

That Adidas strip is amazing, if it is Adidas, shame we never got it. Anyway, I think for the back of that Puma shirt either the 1st or 3rd template should be used, the 1st looks the best with the lettering/numbering, but the 3rd looks the best without it.

Also, don't Football League rules, or maybe it may just be EPL rules state that numbering and lettering must now be either black or white?, hence why over the last 2 and a half years we have had a panel on the back of our shirts?

Too much blue there for my liking.

Is it now a rule (at least in the Premier League) that you can't have names and numbers over stripes?

Look at those Premier League badges! Was that designed by the same nugget who got his shirt printed with "Champions" in April 1996?!

I couldn't believe going to the Fulham match last season and quite a few people getting the new shirt with the Premier League lettering.

Toon in new talks with Northern Rock

Published Date: 30 December 2009

By Andy Hughes

NEWCASTLE United is in talks with mortgage lender Northern Rock about renewing a major sponsorship deal.

The bank's seven-year contract with the club is one of many deals due to run out at the end of the season.

Despite a turbulent couple of years for Northern Rock, a spokesman confirmed it is in talks with club bosses about extending its sponsorship deal.

It is believed the club has received more than £25m in shirt and ground sponsorship from Northern Rock.

A Northern Rock spokesman said: "It is correct that the deal is up at the end of the season, and we are talking about the issue with the club.

"No final decision has been made but there are on-going discussions."

In November, the club brought in Liverpool-based marketing specialists Ampersand to help with the new round of sponsorship deals, with the main focus being a new shirt sponsor.
