Portsmouth FC in yet more trouble - administration again?

Recommended Posts

This is getting so f***ing dodgy. Now those tossers at West Ham are offering to lend them £10m as they don't want to lose the 4 points they would lose should Pompey go out of business.

thats bollox mate there skint aswell that wont happen

Gold was directly quoted saying exactly that tbh. It wouldn't be West Ham as such, it would have been Gold personally lending them £10m.

You're right though, it won't happen.

it can't, illegal under the rules for owner of one club to subsidise another club i do believe

christ the mirror doesn't know whether its coming or going, in one article they claim bruce will buy mark wilson this week

http://www.mirrorfootball.co.uk/news/Portsmouth-star-Mark-Wilson-poised-to-join-Sunderland-so-crisis-club-can-pay-players-article328373.html

and in another they say the premier league has thrown out the claim on the advice of other clubs who don't like the plan

http://www.mirrorfootball.co.uk/news/Portsmouth-plunged-to-the-brink-of-bankruptcy-after-Premier-League-reject-request-to-sell-players-now-article328873.html

What's the situation if they liquidate? 2 teams get relegated from the Premiership as the 3rd position is taken up by what would have been Portsmouth? How does the Championship adjust to only 2 teams coming down from the Premiership but 3 get promoted to the Premiership? 4 go up from League 1 or only 2 are relegated from the Championship?

4 go up from League One, then another four go up from League Two to League One, etc.

and now they don't own fratton park and pay rest of 1m a year to their latest owner, not the actions of a man about to sell methinks

It looks like the actions of a man who is trying to protect his investment and is asset stripping before everything is taken out of his hands.

Looks more like a man who is going to build something on the site and get his money back by doing so.

Theirs rumours that the EPL rule is written in away that the bottom 3 go down and not 20th, 19th, and 18th, meaning if Porstmouth go bust then by the rule book it would then mean 19th, 18th, and 17th would go down.

very much doubt that would happen.

anyhoo....wasn't this supposed to have been sorted on friday ?
